We tried to order tenderloin beefs but the waitress insested to sell us 'chef's special' that would be even better. It turned out to be 1,2kg of not that good meat, served as rare even though we requested for medium. They cooked it twice more, first to medium rare and finally to well done. Meaning we did not get the... More

On 25th of December there were only few restaurant choices in the city so we decided to try this one. It was a little bit problematic to find a table for 4 people without reservation. I have to mention the language barrier, as almost no English was spoken but luckily they know some German. We ordered some salads, steak with... More

This is a charming place! A pretty "Winstub" (wine snuggery) with a nice, traditional and old fashioned ambience. We tried several local dishes (Terrine de fois gras, Presskopf, Wädele au Pinot Noir, Tête de veau), all of them very good and savoury. Friendly and very efficient staff, who remain calm, competent and quick-witted even if the restaurant is fully booked... More

We have returned to this restaurant year after year. We like the family atmosphere and delicious "comfort food". Every visit has a story, including the manager telling our guests that they spoke like "des vaches espagnioles". Imagine my embarrassment, as I had encouraged them to speak French! The situation was resolved, apologies were presented as well as complimentary desert.

A must for every visit in Strasbourg - excellent local dishes, one of the best to try is Fleischkiechle (galettes de viande- meatballs). Need to book in advance. Offer late service (after 2030).

Dined at Le Clou at suggestion of our hotel and because we wanted to sample Alsatian cuisine. The restaurant is intimate and apparently popular as it was quite busy. Not really knowing what to expect I was pleased with my traditional meal of sauerkraut and a variety of sausage and potatoes as a side. While not necessarily the type of... More

Walked in to check out the menu - the staff (middle aged blonde female) was not helpful at all and was pushy to have us sit down. After we had a seat, she still was difficult in answering any questions about the menu and seemed to avoid our table. We ordered the "farmers sausage" and Meatballs with spätzle. The only... More

I'm glad I was with a French speaker as the English menu didn't have blood sausage on it... Absolutely delicious and also had a great French Riesling as well. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Strasbourg!

We were lucky to find this restaurant, tucked away in a quiet back street - to find it packed with locals and tourists. Despite the crowd, the friendly waiters found us a nice corner - tight, but quite comfortable. Each of our dishes was delicious and authentic - onion soup, salade cervelas, beef marrow, brotwurst, pork knuckle - followed by... More

Tucked away on a narrow side street, this wonderful Winstub (in Alsace refers to a traditional restaurant with a focus on local foods) served a perfect salad with three types of duck: magret, foie gras, and cured; and a filet of boeuf with des pommes de terre that were amazing. We sat outside on one of the few tables and... More
