Nice little restaurant with intimate dining room- typical Winstub Excellent menu choice and food quality (would thoroughly recommend the steak tartare) The service was probably the best and friendliest I have came across in France, and the waiter provided some entertainment making the tartare at the table. Would thoroughly recommend!

We spent 5 days in Strasbourg and loved having dinner in the typical Alsatian restaurant. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We used to live in Strasbourg and had eaten there before and were happy to see the quality was still excellent. It is a small place, easy to miss, on a little side street...reservations recommended !

Not the first time we came here for dinner and won't be the last either. The dishes are typical for the region and good. Everything is home made and the deserts are delicious. This visit we did miss Thierry's usually joking and fun manner. He decided to be less vocal and make less to none jokes as some people did... More

This is the opposite of an average place for tourist: both the food and the owner have a strong personality. If you're looking for a convivial place you'll feel home in no time. Imagine to go eat at that uncle of yours that lives far away, the one with a weird sense of humour and that happens to be an... More

Very typical local kitchen, not suited for vegetarians/vegans. The sauerkraut is very good. Watch out for the fresh horseradish you get with it, it's real good and spicy. The owner will talk you through the menu in a variety of languages and give you advice on wine. Just go with it, he's always right. He also has a very special... More

We were able to book on a Saturday night for that evening, which saved us from probably a meal at one of the giant tourist driven restaurants. I high season I'm sure you'll have to book more than just a few hours ahead. Saint Thomas Stuebel has an un-inspiring facade but inside it's a snug and interesting, with about 20... More

Hearty food served in a brilliantly direct, friendly manner. We loved S'Thomas Stuebel and will definitely go again when we are next in Strasbourg.

Found this by accident, first the owner/waiter sat us in this quaint local restaurant. The owner has a great sense of humor and is very lively. We even taught him to say say South Carolina in English and he had a great time saying it with the staff. Now for the food, this was by far a great local Alsace... More

Great choice of local, rustic, artery-clogging dishes. The place is quite small and they seem to cook on the day - as they ran out of dishes throughout the evening. We had the Choucroutte which was very filling and tasty and a tartiflette, which unfortunately was a little bit burnt. The owner is quite a character, a bit rude and... More

This restaurant serves a good choice of regional foods. Each day of the week, they have different specials. In general the price of the meals is not bad. No culinary delights, but just simple local food. It can get busy any day of the week, so making a reservation is recommended.
