Have just returned from a wonderful dinner with my wife at La Boulangerie. The food was exceptional, staters of goats cheese salad for me & asparagus with ham gratin for her - both presented well cooking of a high order & even the salad was the tastiest I have had in the region during the last three weeks. Mains of... More

After our boat trip to the oyster farm, we enjoyed our dinner at La Boulangerie Restaurant. We arrived early before it opened but we were greeted inside by the lady who is the chef's wife. We don't know French but she tried her best to explain to us about the menus. She was very patient and didn't urge us to... More

If you are staying in the Chartrons area of Bordeaux, you must visit this restaurant. It is tucked away down a side street, but is very well worth your while to seek it out. The food was incredible, the décor was fascinating and the service very friendly. We were only in Bordeaux for 4 days, but ate at La Boulangerie... More

Well I`m happy to share my experience and thoughts of La Boulangerie. Very quaint and atmospheric this old bakery serves some great food and wine. A lot of what you eat... More

The Boulangerie is a warm, candle-lit and atmospheric pair of rooms where you cannot help but have high expectations. Yet the promise, we think, was not fulfilled. I had a marvelous foie de volaille salad for starters while my husband's starter Gratin De Crustacés was good. Main course I had salmon which was done in a light cream sauce with... More

Lovely restaurant - and for a non-French person it will also seem very French as a setting. Been there many times and I enjoy the deco as much as the food, which has a home made touch to it. Prices are honest, menus around 26e and good wines for reasonable prices. Definitely worth trying when in Bordeaux even though it... More

La Boulangerie restaurant in Bordeaux an easy stroll from the Garonne and the Quai des Chatrons has an aromatic past as a bakery from the 1850’s til the 20th century. The rustic interior has been somewhat restored, but retains a beguiling antiquity that wins it hordes of fans. The wood-fired oven is there at the back of the dining room, searing entrecotes for delighted patrons. The quarry-tile floors, undressed wood tables and seating, exposed stone and brick walls and antique dresser all add to the relaxed, romantic ambience. The menu here features traditional specialties of the Southwest, like breast of duck with fresh liver or stuffed pigeon and quail. Excellent choice of wines and equally excellent service.
