A tiny restaurant, sitting around 30 people including outside. Two staff, the chef and the waiter. It was Valentine's night and the restaurant was full. The waiter was very attentive and did a great job of looking after everyone. The food was simple but good and tasty. I dined alone and would have preferred a pichet of wine. They don't... More

Overnight stop whilst touring we came across this restaurant, pretty late in the evening and after disregarding loads of other eateries we walked passed and really liked the look of the food that people were eating outside. Well we wasn't disappointed the food was absolutely delicious, we had the menu du jour it was fantastic value. The service was attentive... More

My husband and I had the set menu, it was 18.50 Euros We both had the pate for starters, the main he had the basques chicken, I had the pork, which was not as appetising, good creme brûlée for dessert. My husband had Bobs beer which was recommended, said it was good, so if you like beer give it a... More

Great service, lovely wine, excellent food at a very reasonable rate. Highly recommend for anyone looking for 'no frills' but excellent tasting food.

We were on the lookout for a seafood restaurant in St Jean de Luz and chose Le Peita based on its 'menu du jour' options. The waiter was very friendly and efficient both explaining/translating the menu options for us, and serving the food. The food was beautifully presented - it is clear that the chefs here love their food and... More

We chose this small place as it seemed a quiet option and despite filling up rapidly it remained so. We chose to sit inside which was snug but not too cramped. The food was well presented and very tasty - the menu at 19.50 euros, which had traditional Basque dishes. Good range of wines too. There were 2 young men... More

I asked for a table for one and the waitress unhesitatingly indicated a free table at the front of the restaurant's outside tables and chairs. I was pleased at this as on several previous occasions in the town I had been given unacceptable, unpleasant or no table. The menu not only showed which fish was locally caught but also the... More

We stopped here for lunch whilst in St Jean de Luz. We decided to go with the 18 euro 'menu du jour' as I like to be taken out of my comfort zone and have to choose from only a few local dishes. I had the pate with local Espelette pepper and salad which was very good. The other half... More

We stopped by this small restaurant on the rue Tourasse on a Saturday night. A cozy welcoming environment, exposed beams, Basque tablecloths, comfortable seating arrangements. While we were the first clients there, the place slowly filled up. Obviously it has a reputation for fine dining! We were greeted by a friendly and helpful waiter (who manages the entire room very... We were struggling over the menu because I can never remember what all the different types of fish are called but the waitress brought an English menu so we were away. There was such a fantastic range of dishes that it was difficult to choose but in the end I went for the pimientos stuffed with morue in a delicious... More
