Le Relais is inside the Hotel Najeti, which is conveniently located just outside central Beaune. They had a reasonably priced tasting menu with a few choices. Everything was ok, but overall the food was heavy and nothing special. The cheese course and desserts were particularly...uninspiring. Service was ok, but our server seemed a bit distracted-she dropped several things (nothing of ours) during the course of our dinner. There are much better restaurants an easy walk away in the city.More

This restaurant is in the hotel de la Post. It used to be a very high end and fancy restaurant, but it has changed into a regional restaurant that is more geared to tourists. A new chef has been hired. He has installed a simple...regional menu with main courses in the €20 range and full dinners for about €35. Excellent wines are available by the glass or the bottle for a reasonable average price. The setting is beautiful. The service is white tablecloths with cloth linen. A magnificent seven course regional meal with two small plates, an appetizer, a main course, a cheese dish and a delightful dessert followed by an extra dessert treat is €31. Add an excellent glass of local point noir for six euros and you have an incredible meal. For people who will use the New York prices this is an incredible bargain. That price includes tax and tip. A similar meal in London Paris or New York would cost $100 and not be as good. All the dishes are available à la carte. There are several menus to choose from. I have been traveling in France for 30 years. During that time things have certainly changed. But if you are lucky and persistent you can find an incredibly good meal at a reasonable price.More

Stayed at the hotel and as rain was supposed to start we stayed at the hotel and their restaurant. Not a good choise first there was no rain and second the food was terrible. I had Beef Tenderloin and changed the spinat to fried potatoes....In came a thin cut of beef mediumwell done and not very nice looking or tasting, the potatoes was normal boiled ones that had hit the fryingpan for a few seconds and overcooked. I attach a pic of my steak. My wife had fish John Dory w vegetables for 38 Euros and was presented with 3 small pieces of fish but she was still happy as she like veggies, but 38 Euros, shame! Bread came after a while and was very good, hope we have the same for breakfast tomorrow but than newly baked ofcourse! So my advise even if rain take a walk in to Town and have dinner!More

OK, I can see the most of the reviews for this restaurant are positive, and if you are looking for a nice, brightly lighted room (thanks to recessed florescents behind the crown molding) so that you can read the menu, you will probably agree with...those diners. And if your eyes are that bad, you will not notice that the condition of the dining chairs is appalling. Are they aiming for shabby chic? Maybe, but they only managed shabby. Adding to the senior-citizen center feel of this place was the fake wood flooring that resonated with every staff member's footsteps, so that your dinner will be accompanied by a constant pounding sound, and when the cheese trolley is rolled to a table, it will sound exactly as though the Paris metro is running under you. All this might be acceptable if the food was extraordinary, but it isn't, and though the wine list was excellent it was not nearly enough to make this a place to which we would ever return. If you enjoy dining in a warm, quiet, and relaxing atmosphere, with excellent food, you have many other good choices in BeauneMore

This was a cute place to eat; we wandered in after just arriving in Beaune and it wasn't too crowded. The lighting level was nice (unlike most European restaurants where the lights are on full blast). The recommendation for the wine was spot on and...the service was good without being obtrusive. We would absolutely go back.More

We stayed two nights at the Hotel de la Poste, and thought we would eat in the hotel the first night to make things easy. The room itself is long, and traditionally presented. White starched table linen etc... The menu relatively limited compared to others...in town maybe showing a lack of custom. We both had the tartare of tuna, which was good but served with a small heavily sauced green salad, which overpowered the tuna. The main course, cotes de veau for 2, was actually not a large single chop served for two, but 2 seperate chops, so I do not know why it was advertised for two. The chops were thin and really not very nice. Desserts and wine OK, as was the service - friendly rather than polished. All the other guests (7 tables total) were hotel guests. Some, I expect may have been half board. I really cannot see any passing traffic using this resto as it is on the Beaune ring road where there are few pedestrians & it is simply not good enough for destination diners. So.... only just an "OK" if you are staying at the hotel and wish for an easy option. Its ranking on TA is generous. Good ranking of hotel, however, is probably merited.More

Booked here for our last meal in Beaune, and like others we were not let down. The food, wine and service were exemplary. A little more formal than some of the other Beaune restaurants, but that didn't spoil the experience. It was Easter Sunday and...not overly busy, so the staff were very attentive. After arriving without a reservation and the ensuing condescending look from the manager, we were seated in this lovely room, about 2 blocks away from the Hotel Ibis Centre where we were staying, What a wonderful meal! As should be done, those who ordered the...three course dinner were given a little sample when the others were served their extra course. Great, reasonable wine choices ( after all, this is Burgandy). The cheese trolley was all that you could want.More

We have had so many excellent meals in Beaune so it was difficult to decide where to go on our last night, especially since it was Sunday and most places were closed. We finally decided to try out Le Relais and were extremely pleased, their...little amuse houches and palate cleansers were excellent and I wish that I had not stopped by the festival of wine, cheese, and bread earlier in the day at the hall across from the Hotel Dieu as the cheese trolley looked magnificent. All courses were excellent and service was attentive. The headwaiter was watching all activities in the dining room very carefully to ensure perfect timing and we cannot find fault with anything. The atmosphere was elegant and formal and their wine list was impressive and allowed for excellent choices at a reasonable price (for Beaune).More

We began our meal with an aperitif in the beautiful garden of the Hotel de Posted before moving in to the main dining room. The evening continued to get just better and better! Beautiful local dishes and a cheese trolley to die for. The staff...were attentive and friendly and gave excellent advice on matching the wine with the food. As the title states this was one of the best meals that we had in France (and we were also in Paris and Provence). The setting was lovely and the staff not only efficient but friendly as well. We especially appreciated the "extra" between courses...bites that were offered. We felt the pricing was very reasonable for such an elegant restaurant.More
