We were here as part of a tour and we had maybe 10 or 12 at a table. The fresh baked bread (fouees) was good, we were drinking wine and eatinf bread and butter, it was nice. For an appetizer they brought out pork pate, I liked it, my husband did not. We were served salad, pork shank, and something... More

Cool local fare in a very unique cave setting. The food was local and ok. The wine was less than good. Somewhat of a tourist trap and fairly inexpensive. Complete dinner and wine for two with the group was only 54 euro. Unique place, go for the event and not the food or wine.

This was the third time I've been to this restaurant! First it's really special restaurant in the cave , secondly food is never the same and every time is so delicious! The last thing is that we like to sit just next to the traditional oven and eat the hot fouees (bread)! We'll be back next year!

A large tour group of us ate dinner here in this restaurant carved into a cave. The fouees (similar to small pitas) were good, but not exceptional, and we were able to see the baker make them and bake them. We dined on pork pate, salad, fouees, pork hock and sausage bean stew. We began with a small flute of... More

We were on a Grand Circle tour of western France and the Cave was a group dinner included in our tour. The experience was delightful, both from the atmosphere of the cave itself to the French cuisine which was an unusual country style dinner of pork pate, the restaurants famous unleavened bread, and a rich stew of lentils, pork and... On a recent trip to Amboise, I was lucky enough to be taken this restaurant. The atmosphere of eating in a cave was really fun and the food was delicious. Watching the bread being made and then eating it warm was definitely a taster's delight. The main course was pork and was really good. The owner and staff were very... More

Dining in this large cave was an interesting experience. The service was excellent. We watched how the made the fouee. It was delicious. We had cassoulet, which was unlike any we had had in other regions of France, and it was quite good. Our dessert, baked Alaska, was outstanding.

Eating in a cave was unique and a highlight for me . I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. It was open and airy for a cave and cool and relaxing. I suggest it to all who are close by.

The cassoulet at this restaurant is sensational. Everything that you hope for when you order such a dish, rich, flavourful, smokey, and a comfortingly huge portion to share. Each element of the dish is prepared & cooked perfectly. The entire menu is is wonderful if you are craving traditional French dishes. Wine pairings enhanced the meal, as you would hope.... More
