We all had a variation on the 3 course plat-du-jour and there were no complaints. Also the bottle of local red was superb and not pricey. All in and great job, highly recommended.

We were eating the set menu. The onion soop was too liquid. and main dish of chicken with noodles was with no taste. Many mosquitos. Friendly stuff

We had a nice meal here with our family of four (two adults, two teen daughters). There were a variety of options on the menu, and we all thought our food was good if not great. It's a touristy area, and the selections are somewhat generic, but the service was very good for us. Overall, a nice experience so I... More

We had come to Amboise our last week in France to see some of the chateaux in the area, and were staying in a small hotel just out of town. We hadn't done prior research on restaurants, so asked the young man who checked us in for a recommendation, and he suggested L'Ambacia. It was raining, so the restaurant was... More

L!Ambacia lives up to what it stands for - being a French bistro. Hubby had the French Onion Soup, which was tasty and cheesy, although the stock could have been more "intense" followed by confit duck, which was nice, although the honey sauce was too sweet for our tastes. I had the burger - very tasty - although the fries... More

We dined early evening and the restaurant was not very busy so lacking a bit of atmosphere. I was delighted with my choice of snails followed by fish and chips but my companions felt what they had was "ordinary". We were served by a pleasant young waitress who carried out her duties efficiently and with a smile.

Greeted warmly by young man who would be our waiter. Meal served promptly but not rushed. Salmon Tartare was good but might have been seasoned a. Bit more for my taste. My salmon ravioli was nicely made and sauced but perhaps a bit overcooked. Cheese plate was Ok but nothing special or interesting. All in all, good but not exceptional.

Friendly service. Meals varied in quality. Entrecôte was tough and gristly despite being an expensive item on the menu. Sauces seemed house-made and we're all tasty. Beef tartare lived up to expectation but needed to be served with more or thinner baguette slices for my own preference. Burgers, battered fish and fries were good.

Amazing ocean salad and lamb burger. We also loved the Elixir Malbec wine. The ambience is fantastic!

Food was ok. Nothing spectacular or interesting. We waited too long to get noticed by the server. The we received our meal and had to ask for the Drinks we had ordered previously. Other tables were served olives as appetizers. We didn't rate high enough I guess. There are plenty of other places on the street. Try them first.
