We found name in a guidebook. Hard to find at first. It was booked solid when we arrived at 9 p.m. Owner (David?) recommended another restaurant around corner called Restaurant 37 Tours, which is managed by his brother. We ended up at both restaurants on successive nights. Both are super friendly. Steak was huge! Service was great at both restaurants.

We walked by this restaurant near lunchtime, and saw that it was full while many others in the old town area were not. We had already eaten lunch, so decided to come back for dinner, and were very glad we did. It is quite small, so I called to make a reservation. We each had a starter and plat and... More

Loved this place from the minute we walked in. Very busy for a Tuesday night do we were lucky to get a last minute reservation.. It's very small. Pretty outdoor space for warmer times. The decor is glitzy but classy. Stainless steel tables and crystal like chairs reflect the light. But you don't eat decor so on to the food.... More

This time we sat outside, it has a good ambiance and on Saturday evening was very busy. The food is original, creative, different and totally delicious. We had booked by email following having had to cancel a booking previously but weren't convinced the email had been read; however they accommodated us without fuss. We will return every time we travel... More

Six Texans couldn't identify a damn thing on the menu so we all got something different and passed it around - family style. Not one dish was less than excellent! Entertaining host - just don't take his advice on bars afterwards.

I travel to Tours on a regular basis and always go to L'Atelier Gourmand because it has been consistently excellent. I went twice this trip. This time around I especially liked the Mille Feuille au Chocolat, the Gambas with Quinoa and the Parot Fish. They also served an interesting and delicious Caprese with a sprinkle of caviar. The food is... More

Been in France for six weeks and this is the best meal we have had. L'Atelier Gourmand is just off rue Grand Marche, the main restaurant thoroughfare in the old town. It really is worth going the extra 20 metres to find this restaurant. A friendly waiter created a table for three on a busy night although we didn't have... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant which is Situated very close to Place Plumerau and is really worth a visit. We were welcomed in English by the very friendly patron. We both had gravdlax to start, which was not served in thin slices, but in thick pieces, served with beetroot and goats cheese cannelloni. Unusual and very tasty. My husband's black Angus... More

My fiancé and I had dinner here last night after asking a local bartender for a suggestion for a great place to eat. David and Johann gave us amazing service. They helped me by both giving suggestions when I asked for them, and even spoke in English for me to better understand each item on the menu. The food was... More
