This restaurant was busy, offering a good choice of food and wide range of wines and champagnes. Food was tasty, the onion soup in particular was a hit with all the family. Service friendly and efficient. Tables are a little small and crowded, and you are easily overheard by neighbouring tables . That said, the atmosphere was great .

We found ourselves wandering the streets of this city shortly after Christmas and came across Le Gaulois. Having checked out the menu the waitress welcomed us in and showed us to a table. The establishment was busy with a cross section of ages; some were single ladies whilst others were family groups, all local which in my mind was a... More

We found this busy restaurant on a busy Sunday, during December. We were seated immediately, served drinks within minutes and then our order was taken. We ate the magret de Canard, but instead of with pasta had French fries, pave Saumon and my husband ate Tarteflette. All excellent and swiftly served.

We dined twice at this lively, fun bistro. Great place for happy hour. Very good food and great service. Hard to get a table as this place is popular. We walked across the street to the amazing chocolate shop! And a table was available when we came back. English speaking waitstaff. I ordered vegetable soup and French fries. My companion... More

We stopped for a drink and stayed for lunch.. good beer and a salad gaulois.. the salad was massive and delicious, particularly with runny egg yolk. My wife enjoyed onion soup, which was also a feast.. the queue of locals was a testimony to the quality and value.

Very tired after a long drive, we needed an early dinner, Reims was busy, the Christmas Market had just started that night, added to this, the restaurant is on a corner of a busy boulevard How lucky we were to pick this place Escargots and Bravette for me, Salad a Chicken for her. Superb meal, cooked exactly as we asked,... More

We ate here as a party of 9. The service was very slow, side dishes arrived when we'd almost finished the main courses. Omelettes took an hour and a half to arrive. Cheese only omelettes had ham in. There was a slight anti-foreigner vibe going on too. They were busy because it was a holiday and the food was good... More

Had a nice dinner, the menu of a starter and plat de jour was generous and good value. Drink by the glass was served in an attractive carafe and our waiter was knowledgeable and very helpful. The ambience is relaxed and the site is popular with the locals.

Good average, steak tiny and chicken measly portion. £65 with three glasses of wine plus dessert. Service was good.
