This is a busy, traditional restaurant, specialising in regional dishes. Keen to explore, I ordered andouillette, the local pork sausage. Probably benefitting from experience, the waiter asked if I’d had it before, and finding I hadn’t, suggested I try a sample first. He was right: that almost ammoniacal taste sometimes found with pork was extremely strong. In fairness, locals were... More

A wet midweek visit, out of season. We were shown to a table of our choosing. The décor was Belle Epoque, lovely. Bread, butter and dip arrived along with drinks. We requested that the music be turned down, which it was, it was not an appropriate style for the clientele and evening dining - as the staff were all young... More

I think they spend more time convincing local hotels to send customers than actually looking after the customers. Service was average at best. Food was bad bistro....i barely ate any of either of my plates. The owner(or manager, more likey) asked if everything was ok. I told him i didnt like it and he just shrugged and took my plate.... Stayed overnight in Troyes en route to south of France so arrived exhausted after a long car journey looking for dinner. Settled on this restaurant after passing several others which failed to appeal. We were impressed with both the service and our meals. Started with lovely bread and tomato confit whilst we examined the menu. We decided against a starter... More

Nice environment and friendly - though not always efficient - service. Dishes were of variable quality. I ordered kidneys and mashed potato, and that was exactly what I got: a pile of kidneys and a pile of mashed potato. While both were well prepared, some additional vegetables would have made a huge difference. A similar story can be told about... More

We had a couple of the local sausage dishes which were OK but nothing special. Staff did not explain anything but this may have been a lack of English. Weren't particularly felt like valued guests either. Food came quickly but very rustic. Portion sizes are fairly large. Two courses were more than enough. Wine was fairly expensive. Our meal came... Fairly average bistro, starter of pate to share was tasty (though presentation could have been better) - we appreciated the gherkins served along side. Mains were nothing to write home about, again sloppy presentation and fairly plain flavours. Wine list was very expensive too. I was very surprised that the Best Western hotel could not have thought of somewhere better... More

We actually came a year ago and had a good meal, however one year later and things have gone severely downhill. I would almost suggest the place is closing down and is trying to milk as much from Best Western guests as it can. Positively the worst steak frites in France, a rip off wine list, a welcome as if... We had a nice meal here and it offered some interesting regional dishes, if you are feeling adventurous. The menu was reasonable priced and the service was good.

Four of us visited this restaurant on a stop over in Troyes. The restaurant was recommended by our hotel, which did not have a restaurant, and proved to be a well deserved recommendation. The restaurant is in the style of a traditional bistro, which helps to create a nice atmosphere. The service good and the menu gave a nice variety... More
