This is very Parisien food at a modest price. Authentic tastes that are not watered down for tourist palates--if you want to experience french culture through your mouth, start here. We started with the best seafood platters on the planet--local shrimp and clams (in garlic...butter) that were out of this world. Then we tried a pate' dish, a crisp duck quarter, and a salmon & avocado salad. The presentation was well done and the taste was spectacular. Our waitress, did her best english to present the menu to us, and she was equally pleasant, attentive and informative. We finished off the night with a creme brule' which was done perfectly. Not the most sophisticated food but good decent and honest food with specialities from the Basque country. Always a lively atmosphere at the bar.

My wife and I went on the 2 hour winter Segway Tour with Fat Tire Bike Tours based close to Dupleix Metro (Line 6). After an excellent but chilly trip it was great to thaw out in Les Prolongations. I lived near this bistro for a couple of years and went every weekend. Now every time I visit Paris I go back as I miss some of the regular dishes like duck hearts sauté with garlic and parsley and the prawns done the same...way. Great, affordable wine and the service is very warm. In a city full of people looking to rip you off this is different. I highly recommend it. It's also a 5 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. Nice service The food is coming from the south west (basque). You will enjoy wine (irouleguy), nice meet and very good desserts. The duck is excellente, "gateau basque" also. Everthing is cookedin a very small kitchen. The place is too small, always crawded but in...summer you can eat outside.
