I'm on a brief visit to Paris, the most romantic city, but sadly solo, my love is at home. I tried a restaurant I have eaten in before but it was, thankfully as it turns out, full. I wandered off and nearly passed this wonderful place by but something caught my eye and I stepped in expecting to be, again,... More

I found this little restaurant for a last "French" meal for my Amercan friends. I unfortunately booked for 2 instead of 3 and unlike most French restaurants we did not wait long to be "rebooked" or get that how could you be so stupid look. The menu is not vast but heh what the heck "small" is beautiful right? The... More

I have lived in the Marais, and it is a great area to live, but very poor with good restaurants. A good friend recommended me Monjul. + short menu, but very creative choices, topped with a daily special. + excellent quality ingredients. The chef is great. + central location and nice sixties / seventies inspired decoration. + extremely fair prices,... More

I enjoyed this place. Limited choice and small portions but innovative and tasty... Sometimes a little too innovative in that deconstructed square cut meat kind of way but overall made with care and at a good price. Decor is dimple and cozy.

Really nice dinner. We both got 3 courses, having the steak tartare and Salmon for entree, duck and chicken for mains and macaroon and pannacotta for dessert. All were very good with the desserts being the highlight. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed with the waiter being very helpful with the menu and wine list. I would recommend this place... More

we went there based on the favourable TA reviews, and were happy with our choice. I ordered the "degustation menu", that needs to be reserved upon booking one day ahead : 2 starters, 2 main dishes, 2 desserts. the 2 starters were excellent, refined and tasty. the main dishes were more criticized by my wife and daughter (the squid was... At midday the restaurant offers a unique 3 set menu for the compelling price of EUR 22.50 Although may be not as glamourous and fantastic than in the evening (I still remember my evening menu) it is just excellent with great savours, a beautifull plate presentation and fine tastes. The service is just excellent, smiling and efficient. Just one of... More

This is the fourth time that I have chosen to eat at Monjul, located on a small street in the Marie. Three well prepared lunch courses for 20 euro. The portions are not large but I always leave feeling very satisfied and impressed with their presentation and artful pairing of flavors. Five star food at one star prices.

We stumbled upon this place late one evening and were super lucky to get a table. The place seems like a labour of love between friends, and you can really tell that they try to make every diner's experience memorable. The food is a curious but delicious mix of French and Asia flavours, plated up like works of art! Would... More

So excited we had a chance to dine here tonight. Arguably the best food experience I've ever had in Paris. I tried the vegetarian entree option and was blown away with a melange of carrot I couldn't begin to imagine. This style of cuisine is so much better than the traditional fare of the majority of Parisian restaurants, inventive and... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
