We walked nearby this resturant when it started to rain so we just walked in. It was a great surprise! The steak I had was perfect and my freind had a tender chicken breast. The service was perfect. All together a wonderful dinner and moderately priced.

We went to this place for dinner as a group of 9, because it was really close to the hotel, and it looked nice from the street. The food was truly delicious - try the Foie Gras, Tuna Steak, Smoked Salmon Salad, anything really. Pricing was decent for this type of establishment. Service was ok for Paris, nothing to write... Great place, as 2 English people we wern't brave enough to try the many french places around the area but then found this which looked good enough to be able to hellp our limited french. A great choice as the waiter spoke superb English he brought the english menu that was a literal translation from the French menu and funnily... More

Went there to have a drink and ordered two cocktails for 10 € each. A small beer comes at 8 €. Cocktails were not great at all. Service was "OK", not great. Can't comment on the food but I would not return for drinks only.

It was busy and we waited a little, but it was sooooo worth it!. My steak was yummy and priced well. Very trendy restaurant and it seems that a lot business people come here to eat. Never got treated differently or anything.

There are so many great things that I could say about this place. I absolutely loved Backstage Cafe. The service was excellent which made the experience great. My friend and I stopped through on a cold winter day December 2012. We were greeted immediately, sat at a cozy table in front of a picture window then ultimately enjoyed a tasty... More

2 course for 16euro at lunch time. You can choose from the specials or the items on the menu with love hearts next to them. Well cooked and large portions. The pork and garlic roasted potatoes were delicious. Many business men and women having lunch. Modern decor and furniture. Friendly and attentive staff. Swift service.

Description
Opened since 2002 at the heart of the district Montparnasse, Backstage Cafe became the major restaurant of gaite street , the Mecca of the theatrical culture. In an atmosphere cosy with a magnificent lounge decoration, and an immense glazed facade which can open on a terrace, you can taste a good revisited traditional cooking with fresh products. Backstage Cafe is the good address for a lunch (lunch set menu 16€) or a quality dinner with a selection of owners' wines or simply to taste some cocktails with friends.

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
