I walked around the Palace Garnier (opera house) area, saw this restaraunt and went in. I ordered beef tartar (raw beef dish), 17 euro (2017 price), that was delicious. My daughter ordered cold foie gras, it was 25 euro, and tasted poorly. We had foie gras several places in Paris, so we have comparison. They cost 10-18 euros and tasted... More

Cheerful old world ambiance, with large glass windows fronting the restaurant, letting the light in. Efficient service, staff speaks English. Good wine selection and you can pretty much ask for the exact quantity you want (glass, 25 cl, 50 cl or a bottle)! We had the sea bass (good) and the crumble with cream (superb). As always, have a look-see... More

Had lunch here which was very good, just passing by and noted the menu and thought we would try this restaurant, glad we did. Good menu but I took the lunchtime special (Lamb) and this was good, followed by Crème Brule, washed down by a bottle of local wine, bill was not that high and would recommend this restaurant if... I cant say much about the place, because we just made a short coffee break there after shopping in the area. We took a piece of tart tatin and it was divine! They give a generous piece, slightly warmed, with Chantilly... wow.... i barely made it to take a photo of it... besides, the place is nice and very typical... More

It's a great neighborhood spot for locals and I've been coming here every year for close to 15 years now. And it's still the same: great food, awesome French onion soup, very reasonable prices and most importantly extremely helpful and friendly staff. Most waiters have a great grasp of English so it's a worry free dinner. Many locals from the... More

Stopped by for a quick dinner Feb 12th. Waiter was the friendliest and most attentive I've encountered in Paris. Beer came immediately, followed by a bread basket and Veal Normande for the main. All delicious. Sat outside (heated area). Will definitely go again!

We are here multiple times during our stay last week. Our hotel was Hotel Mansart a three minute walk near the Place Vendome. The menu is well priced, classic bistro fare and quite delicious (steak tartare, croque madame, onion soup...). We tried several other casual spots for lunch and dinner and kept coming back to Madeleine 7 for the quality... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
