Probably one of the best "real" Japanese restaurant in Paris. Whether you like or dislike what you think Japanese food is, don't miss this place. Count around 30euros per person.

Per-fect. the idea of taking half a plate let us try a lot of things. And everything was really good. Thank you. And the staff was so nice, it's a bonus.

Back in 2012, I ate here. It left such an impression on me that when I arrived in Paris this month, I made a point of eating here again. I'm so glad I did. The meal was just as outstanding. This restaurant does really excellent Japanese food. The service is wonderful. You won't be disappointed. I highly recommend you eat... More

I love Hotaru because it is really a Japanese restaurant from A to Z : they even greet you in Japanese when you call to book a table! a feel of Japan right in Paris. The food is great, service kind although sometimes slow, ambiance bohemian verging to boboish. And the bill is not as high as some good Japanese... More

Great place to enjoy japanese cuisine in Paris. Might be a bit expensive if you go for the menu, but the sushi (nigiri) are totally worth it. Try Hotaru Mori (assorted sushi) if you're hesitating what to choose. They also offer a choice of expensive japanese sake (rice wine) to complement your 'plats'. As for the interior decoration, 'One piece'... More

Tried the agedashi tofu, braised pork and teriyaki chicken dishes. All dishes are very well cooked and delicious. The tofu is very tasty with the freshly grated daikon (radish). The pork and chicken are very tender with rich flavour. I also order a bowl of rice but it tastes very average for the price they are charging. The chef is... More

Good service, friendly and family. Japanese traditional food cooked very well (miso soup, sushi, sashimi also with cooked fish). Fantastic the foie gras in soy sauce (French fusion). Otherwise, wine cart to be reviewed: quality and quantity of the wines can be improved.

The decor is not what one would expect as it feels like a French bistrot turned Japanese restaurant. And a popular one actually, with local customers, Parisians and quite a few Japanese in-pats. The menus are in Japanese but they have a few copies in French too. The food is varied and has flavour. The service is attentive and smiling.... More

Even though this small restaurant is far away from the other Japanese restaurants area in Saint-Honore, it is a perfect spot to taste fresh fish or delicate tofu dishes. All the employees here are Japanese, including the cooks in the spotless open kitchen. Go crazy with anything in the consistent menu or the menu of the day. The waiter and... More

Simple and tasty Japanese cuisine revolving mainly - but not exclusively - around fish (raw & cooked). Excellent service, passionate chef and all in all a very good experience.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
