A perfect Butter Croissant! I knew they had won for Best Baguette in Paris 2017, so I was curious to try their croissants. Just took me a while to head down to the 13eme. I had went down to check out the Street Art on...Rue Buot and recognized Brun on my walk back. Wow, my assumption was more than correct as it was amazing. I wouldn’t be surprised if they come close to winning Best Croissant this year. I spent the last few visits in Paris trying all the current, past and fan favorite croissants and Brun is in my top 5. A perfect all-butter croissant, or croissant au beurre should be the right balance of distinct thin flaky layers and a melt-in-your-mouth buttery, a hint of sweet and slightly chewy dough. It should be uniform in shape, cooked until golden and have a slight sheen with a touch of salt. Lastly, it should make a loud crunch as you bite into it leaving crumbs on your face and clothing. The chocolate croissant was a bit different from the others I’ve tried, almost had a Nutella flavor. Good but not my favorite although was any good the prettiest.More

The baguettes from Brun Boulangerie continuously rank among the best in the capital, but what's even better is their bostock. The owner is so kind and lovely.

We went here to check out the “Best Baguette”, and the experience was disappointing, to say the least. The baguette was fine, but we liked the one we got down the street better. The biggest issue was that the two women working there were SO...RUDE!—and I don’t mean rude like Americans always seem to think the French are when they’re not. I mean ACTUALLY rude.
