My wife and I went to this place this week. Had pork dish with roquefort sauce. Tasty enough sauce and reasonable portion for EUR19. Meat was a little tough but OK. Problem I had was the vegetables - Roquefort creamy sauce, with creamed mash potatoes, broccoli with heavy cheese sauce and heavily mashed turnip. Just really not going together well... More

Eaten here a few times now. The restaurant is usually quiet (which is strange considering the quality of the food and the location) so make the most of it like this before it gets too popular! The set menu is good value although the deserts are not up to the level of the starters (the paté is recommended) and mains.... More

This was my favorite local restaurant when I lived in Paris for several years in the early 2000s. First trip back with wife in a long time last month and had a great dinner here. Same as it ever was--love the steak and duck dishes with fruit garnish. Warm atmosphere.

I went there with a bunch of friends for an after dinner drink, all the drinks were served by picking up the ice cubes by hand, my gin & tonic was € 20 for less than 25 cl of alcohol with dash of tonic from the gun and not from the bottle, on top of this no lemon twist, I... More

We had a wonderful night dining at Le Connetable in the Marais on our last night in Paris for my daughter's 15th birthday. We opted for set 3 course menu, with each member of our family (including our 3 kids aged 9, 11 and 15,) finding a number of different things they were excited to try. Staff were attentive and... The restaurant had great charm and character with a menu that covered both a la carte and fixed price. The food was well presented and very enjoyable. Recommended

We had a company dinner in this really characteristic restaurant in Marais neighborhood. The place is sort of vintage looking, maybe a little bit dark but perfect for a romantic dinner. Service and food was good. I had a very tender and juicy rump steak with pepper sauce and a variety of sides.

A very charming restaurant, with most seating on the upper floor. Food was very good, and the service wonderful. The interior is nice, more evocative of a country restaurant than a sophisticated city one.

To drink, squire! With such a name (the constable was a count charge of the royal stables) is expected to find a medieval tavern in the heart of the Marais. And indeed, it is not so far: this mansion of Cardinal de Retz is a living character with exposed beams, HQ night owls of all ages. During the day, the Constable shows a different face: that of a chic restaurant Marais. First we do not walk on it, the atmosphere is cozy, the older crowd and the room upstairs is open. In true French culinary tradition, the menu offers meat and fish sauce well (such as sliced turkey with porcini mushrooms) generously accompanied by fried potatoes with garlic and good structured wine. Here we love local products quality and taste rather than dietetics is favored. The addition is a bit salty, but still reasonable for the area.
