Chocolat Illèné is a magnificent purveyor of chocolate and macaroons I'm Paris. It is off the beaten track but a welcome stop as you climb the hill to the Sacre Couer. Delicious, melt in the mouth chocolate and macaroons...they are simply magnifique. Well worth a...visit to experience the wonderful and very varied chocolate flavours including spices and fruits. Also macaroons made with fresh fruit!! We had strawberry today😊More
Very quaint area, nestled in the Montmarte are of Paris. Don't worry about the calories, you will most likely have burned them off walking to a from here. Delicious and unique macaron combinations. Perfectly paired flavours, and of the highest quality. The chocolates were superb,...quite enjoyed the hot pepper chocolates along with many others. The owners are very kind, helpful and generous. We visited the shop more than once, each time we saw the owners give their regular customers free chocolates to try and also to the new ones like us. We will be coming back! Best to walk here as the parking is limited on this narrow cobblestone street.More
These two Korean women specialize in macarons that are utterly fresh and that often use unusual ingredients (tea, sesame, peppers). The same is true with the chocolates that are made fresh each day. Worth a detour.
We called in as part of a food tour and it was that nice it prompted this review. Lovely little shop with mmmmmm chocolate and macaroons. Some lovely boxes and bags to take as a gift back home with you.
We visited 3 macaron shops during our visit to Paris, and our group of three agree that Chocolat Illene had the most scrumptious macarons. This included a comparison against the famous Pierre Herme macaron shop in St Germaine de Pres.
We found this place thanks...to a food tour. The cracked texture of the macaron didn't look as appealing when we walked into the store, but the taste is amazing. It also isn't overtly sweet. Try the fresh strawberry macaron if it's available; the slight tart of the fresh strawberry contrasts nicely with the sweet creme.More
