This place is most certainly at its best in the warmer months when you can sit outside at the terrasse in the middle of this quiet, and pleasant location within an inner courtyard. But even in the middle of winter Comme a la Maison, also known as La Petite Maison dans la Cour, is a wonderful place to go for... More

We only had a drink, - we went especially for the hot chocolate on the strength of reviews here and weren't disappointed. It was rich without being too thick; delicious and beautifully presented in old fashioned cups and saucers, served with water in a decorative glass bottle and two biscuits on a tiny plate. Extremely good value at Euro 5,50... More

We actually tried to check this place out several times, but they were closed each time we went. We finally made it when they were open. Took the family to get some hot chocolate since it was a cold day. We were a bit underwhelmed, but maybe it wasnt a good day for the owner? The hot chocolates were ok.... More

Had a wonderful quiche plus another quiche type entree. Produce bought locally, everything made on premise. Good value. Very quiet. We were the only ones there. Inside a courtyard area where there were a few restaurants.

This place is quite small, very charming, and had few tourists. Indeed, I was a bit uncertain that it was the right place. Photos suggested it was. The hot chocolate was very delicious. We ordered 5 portions for 5 people, which was a lot. We should have ordered 3 portions. I would definitely go back, and we were sad not... More

We had seen a review of this little cafe three years ago, and had a cup of hot chocolate there with friends at that time. I did not review it at that time, but after having the same high quality chocolate poured from a white pitcher ( enough for almost 2 cups each) I was feeling guilty about not sharing... More

In a tiny courtyard in the middle of the ancient area of Saint Paul the place is really great. The small restaurant looks charming and the home made food promising. It is a pity that all this is ruined by a truly unfriendly and uncaring service. The manager shamelessly served overcooked Chocolate fondant arguing it was her way to do... More

What's better than rich hot chocolate on a cold and rainy day in Paris? Absolutely nothing! This hot chocolate is unlike any other you've tasted. It has the perfect balance of sweet and bitter with the most excellent aroma. You are served a pitcher of hot chocolate which really equals about two cups worth. Cathy the owner was very gracious... While in Paris, take yourself to Saint Paul Metro, and walk round to Village Saint-Paul, 9 rue Saint-Paul. Round one of the little laneways, you'll find this small, charming restaurant, bustling with people anxious to enjoy a fantastic meal. Owner Cathy Abt designs and cooks all meals herself with an ever-changing blackboard menu. In late September 2013 we enjoyed a... More

The thickest, richest hot chocolate I've had. And I liked the beets salad. Those along with the quiet little courtyard made a relaxing light lunch / afternoon snack.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
