The restaurant seemed ok from the reviews here, and when we entered the atmosphere and the menu seemed very homey. On the other hand, the table we had reserved an hour before , was taken and the staff were very rude to tell us that we have to wait after the clients finish their meal. We stayed next to the... Great little French restaurant down one of the side streets. Lovely décor and layout. The entrees and wine are reasonably priced for Paris. I definitely ventured out of my comfort zone for this meal. I have never have kidneys but it was noted as a specialty by my waitress. I had the rognons de veau which is veal kidneys. It... More

Very nice staff who seem to enjoy trying to translate the french menu. We chose the entree and dessert for $25 (or 27?) euro. I had the lamb, very good, husband the duck, and daughter the veal. Each was served with some form of potato. The best dessert seems to be my husbands which was different flavor ice creams on... More

We have had a very nice evening here. The restaurant is very popular and for good reason. After not being able to eat there the day before (it was totally booked). We decided to make a reservation. Keep on with the good work!

Packed with locals. We were lucky to get a table. Service was friendly and efficient. Tasty homemade food. Really enjoyed the meal.

Me and my wife enjoyed our meal here - slight delay in getting out table but free kir royals while waiting are always a nice gesture 😀 both enjoyed the food and 2 courses for 25.50 euros is very good value in Paris, my wife loved her lamb dish. If we are back in Paris we will paying another visit.

My wife and I happened by this restaurant on our recent visit to Paris and were truly impressed by the service provided to us by Cho Cho and Delphine. Much more than waitresses, they took the time to translate the menu in full for us and were more than patient with our requests which was no trouble at all to... More

The service was friendly and very attentive. The food was just ok. Those who had steaks found them a bit tough. Those who had the fish were happy with their choice.

Unlike some of the tourist traps Bistro des Campagnes doesn't have to pretend to be French. It had been recommended by our nearby hotel and turned out to be a good call. We were greeted cheerfully by our host who said in response to our request for an English menu "I am the English menu" and was as good as... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
