Three course meat at a reasonable price, a one minute stroll from le Centre Pompidou. Recommended :-)

Enjoyed a dinner after visiting the Pompidou museum. It was a quiet restaurant that served freshly prepared food. I truly enjoyed my duck confit and house red wine. I had a mushroom pastry as an appetizer which was fantastic. They do have prix fixe menus or a la carte. The intimate and friendly environment afforded us opportunity to chat with... More

Given its location next to such a big tourist attraction it is surprising to find such a charming little restuarant. The decor inside is eccentric and charming, there is only ever one waiter, who I assume is the proprieter but he is always really friendly and helpful...totally disproves the often said thing about surly Parisiens !!! The food is always... More

We went here for lunch during a visit to the Pompidou Centre (should be renamed the Pompidont Centre in my opinion) as a result of the excellent reviews on Google. Very short menu, quiches and omelettes mostly and average at best. Had a strange Salmon pate to start (one), 2 omelettes and a quiche and 3 soft drinks and the... More

What a hidden gem. Great and beautiful restaurant, amazing food, very nice staff and jazz in the background... Just next to the centre pompidou, so great if you are in the area... Cannot recommend it enough

Located in the square next to the Pompidou Centre, overlooking the fountains, this was a perfect setting for lunch. We stopped to look at the menu and were greeted by the owner(?)with a huge friendly smile. Realising we were English he immediately switched to English, although he did indulge my desire to speak French. We had intended to sit outside,... More

Out of the eight nights we spent in Paris, we ended up having dinner 3 times in Jardin de the. Do not expect gourme haute cuisine but local specialties, served with a smile, which makes this restaurant a far cry from tourist traps.

Finally we have found a restaurant that doesn,t serve, meat and fries, chicken and fries, steak tatre, onion soup etc. This lovely little place serves home cooked food, freash and very well priced. Great after or before a visit to the Pompadour centre as its just down the side street close by. We had the slow cooked lamb in leeks,... More

Near centre pompidou, this is a small restaurant very clean and warm. You can taste French dishes and fabulous salted cakes. Very good prices 20 euro a person without dessert. Kind service.

Perhaps because of superlative reviews here, I was disappointed to find Le Jardin de The merely middling. I'll accept at least part of the blame, though; when I arrived to find the restaurant was just steps from the Pompidou Center, I should have revised my expectations accordingly. On the upside, the room is charming, with its stone walls and teapot... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
