Lovely location - at a price ! Stopped off for a drink and lunch whilst visiting Notre Dame. Located on a corner literally across the road from the Cathedral. We ordered 2 beers whilst we looked at the menu. These took some 10 minutes to be delivered. It was quite busy so we put that down as the reason for... More

Convenient location with bathrooms. Ok service by a nice enough waiter. Menu is 'American' friendly which I think is silly. Expensive so so food. Not worth it. Would not recommend.

We arrived late in the afternoon and ordered food. We had to check if it contained certain ingredients due to allergies. The waiter was extremely rude and treated us as if we were stupid. Our drinks were banged down on the table and the attitude was awful. We were nothing but polite and did not deserve this treatment. The waiter... More

It is located right next to the cathedral, so it is going to be touristy and expensive, but it's great for people watching and just watching the world go by on a sunny afternoon. We usually just stop and have drinks, but we chose to eat here on this particular day. I ordered the gratinated onion soup with a bowl... More

Just a tourist trap, avoid if possible. We ordered 2 coffees and paid 12 euros. Waiter tipped himself without our approval. Ended up paying 50 cents for use of a bathroom not knowing about the token rule. Just awful!

This cafe/restaurant is the closest establishment to the front doors of the Notre Dame Cathedral....an excellent location to capture visitors exhausted from climbing and exploring the cathedral. Our family of 2 adults & 2 kids visited this cafe for a late breakfast after an early cathedral tour because it does appear very nice and inviting from the outside. The internal... More

Aux Tours Notre Dame is the restaurant closest to Notre Dame Cathedral and on the queue side to ascend the towers. As I've mentioned in other reviews, I generally avoid the restaurants closest to attractions but with our next stop being the Towers of Notre Dame, it just made logistical sense to stop in after Sunday mass at the Cathedral.... Considering that the restaurant caters primarily to tourists the prices, service and quality of food are not out of reason. The restaurant itself is nice, has a great location, outdoor seating and terrific people watching. If you need to use the restroom ask for a token (keeps restrooms for patrons).

We stopped here for lunch on a cold, wet winter day while we waiting for the lines to dissipate at the cathedral Notre Dame. We had an enjoyable, relaxing lunch. The service was actually very good. The food was average, simple meals. There was a good variety on the menu. We were served promptly but there was not rush to... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
