My husband and I went here for a quick stop we thought the service was fun! You had to wave them down but they were pretty cool dudes the food was okay it wasn't amazing but it did the trick until we had dinner! For the price is what you get, however it did really smell like smoke anywhere you... More

Simple but delicious french dishes.Good value for money. If you want to a traditional bistro food and quantity, this is the place to be: Gratin dauphinois/confit de canard etc... The service is good. Not crowded at all on Sundays afternoon.

The lunch menu is very affordable and the portions are big. I had the creme brule for dessert and it was delicious.

The food may be cheap but it's not at all of good quality and the service was terribly rude. The only positive was that the atmosphere is good for a dinner with friends. However, I'd prefer to pay a little extra elsewhere for a more pleasant dining experience.

As its name implies (cantine=canteen), the best place in town if you are a big group of noisy persons looking for a cheap and trendy place to eat. But don't come here for a experience of French gastronomy.

Don't forget the wax buletts for your ear ! You'll not disappointed by the sound. International venues (Seattle, Berlin, Paris scene) and fans from all over Europe ... As simple as that !

They have menus, and you can pick one side and a main course with a drink. You should take care if you ask for the english menu, because the translations are made so bad, you order one thing and when they serve it to you, it is something different. The burgers and steaks looked good. The service is fine and... More

Was grateful to find this place open late and still serving dinner so close to my hostel (Les Piaules) after a long day of traveling. I went with a friend and we both had the salmon (with dill sauce, I believe?). It was good, but not anything earth-shattering. Both our meals came out well and it seemed popular, so I'd... More

I was there in December. Young French students were having dinner together. One of them spotted at least a mouse and reported it to the restaurant manager. Answer was: "so what, this is the case for all restaurants" !!! I will never go there again

I've been plenty of times with friends, and I think the only reason we keep going back is that it's such a bargain. Unfortunately the waiters get pretty stressed out and it's a bit dog-eat-dog to get someone to take your order. Not surprising as it's quite a big place and always packed full of hungry diners! Not very refined... More

Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighbourhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
