Altough service wa rather friendly at Cafe de l'Empire we had the worst meal in probably 25 years. We both had a steak with blue cheese, frites and green salad. The skin of mine was really burned and tasted and smelled like it. My friend's steak was very dry, tough and really looked like someone had tried it before. We... More

Yesterday's bread, a long time ago cooked meat and fish. No 'le menu', just 'la carte'. Indifferent waiter. WORST RESTARAUNT EVER.

We stopped for lunch after picking up our Paris Passes. We order the daily special and a Salade Nicoise. The food was good and came pretty fast. We had a beer and a glass of white wine, which drove the bill into the very expensive category. Experienced slight shock at the 34 Euro tab for such a simple meal. Service... More

We stopped at this wonderful Café and had a delicious meal at a wonderful price. My daughter had steak and potatoes, that was a generous portion, my mom had a chicken dish with mashed potatoes and I had a delicious salad with fresh mozzarella that was grilled and was fantastic. I also ordered a side of French fries and was... More

We first chose Cafe de L'Empire because it was on a side street with less traffic and thus quieter. It also had a menu in French only with no burgers thus feeling less tourist and more Parisian. The place is quite small and not fancy but prices are significantly less for typical French fare such as tartines and pouched eggs... More

We were here, was very buisy. We got cheap and instead of going to les anticuaries, i think its called, the nice restaurant coming from the seine river. If you add 5 euro more per person you get a better meal at the restaurant next door les anticuaries

Was walking around with exhausted elderly parents, on the night of the European Cup football final, and had another restaurant cancel our reservation, when we came upon Cafe de l'Empire. We sat down, had a lovely straight-forward and extremely good value dinner. Thank you!

Our waitress was nice. But they have a really unpleasant boss-lady at the bar, and tasteless old cow sold as beef steak. Small portions and overpriced as well. If you value good food stay away.

I ate here a few times during my week in Paris. It was near my hotel, had several options on the menu. The duck salad (with foie gras and duck served on top of the salad) was epic. There was some sort of quiche that was deconstructed that was very good. Recommend for a quick/casual bite and if you're very... More

Living around the corner we are trying numerous cafes and bistros and Cafe de l'empire is the best value for money so far. Even though one dish was underwhelming the fish with cauliflower tart was different in the best way. Great baguette from across the road and a passable carafe for under 35 euros is hard to find here. Will... More
