We have eaten at Saint Sylvestre at Cobea. It is absolutely necessary to reserve and we managed to get the last table for this special night. The menu was not cheap but for a seven (or eight, I don't remember) dinner it was totally ok. The food was prepared in a very imaginative way, my wife found it sometimes too... More

Philippe continues to turn out amazing dishes of the highest quality and Jerome always complements with excellent wine selections. We ate near the end of September, before Philippe had white truffles on the menu, but each of the 6 courses (+ a complementary preparation gift of wild duck) were amazingly delicious. Michelin 2* quality at 1* prices; GREAT!

When we were in Paris recently to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, we booked a table at Cobea for our celebration dinner. Reservations booked well in advance are necessary. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and seated in a quiet alcove. We ordered the 4 course prix fixe menu, but we actually were served 7 courses counting the "extras"... More

The situation was my b-day, we called, booked and left the cel phone as per required. As we got there - right day and time- there was no table for us. The staff and the chef said they called many times to confirm. Absolutely no voice mail or text message in my cel phone. While the chef was almost putting... More

When I first decided to spend a few days in Paris (as part of a 3 week holiday in France), this is what I was hoping for....fantastic 5-star restaurant. We did the full 8-course menu with different wines throughout the evening....wow. It was a little expensive, but if you want to experience a truly special meal, this is the place.

One of the best gastronomic restaurant in Paris. One should choose this restaurant for the value of the cooking. The place is small but service is perfect. And the chef will astonish you with his creativity.

If you are looking for fine dining that is worth every Euro spent - look no further than Cobea. This could easily be Paris' best kept secret. The wine-paired five course degustation menu set our taste buds on fire. Each course deserved praise. The serving staff were attentive, knowledgable and good fun. The chef deserves a Michelin Star or two.

For a Michelin-stared restaurant I was surprised that they handled different food-allegies so poorly. Many of the dishes was with bread aside, but they didn't offer any glutenfree bread. Cheese with no bread is a bad treat. Their english was poor, but they tried their best. The food was very good, and the wine-choises they took for us as well... More

Cobea is a great and small restaurant close to the theatre area of Montparnasse. It's inside a petite village type house. The atmosphere is distinguished but not stiff. The dishes mix a variety of flavours in original combinations. The food has a wide range of flavours, colours and textures used without exaggeration. The staff are attentive and will describe each... Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
