I am usually not one to complain but unfortunately I was greeted by a rudeness here that I have never experienced before in my life. I was with a sweet little 2 year old girl who desperately needed the bathroom. If I ever need to...use a cafés bathroom, I will always buy something, even if it’s just a coffee, but today we were very rushed and the little girl was desperate. After the man quite gruffly said we needed to buy something if we wanted to use the toilets, which I understand, the women there just stared at me with a cold, blunt look on her face, right dead in my eye. As we walked away, she continued to stare at me in the most horrid way. It was obscene really. I understand and accept that maybe I could have just quickly ordered a coffee, but after that revolting experience, I decided to cut my losses and put my money elsewhere, even if it meant, we needed to find another place quickly. Sometimes it amazes me why people own or work at restaurants if they don’t like people. In their eyes, receiving €2 for a coffee was more important that helping a little girl. Kindness goes a long way in this world. I had looked to eat at this restaurant, and may have brought friends too, but there is no chance now. Hopefully that woman will find something in her life to be joyful about.More
Omgoodness the beef rib steak was not at all chewable. The potatoes and green beans were wonderful. Save your $$$
Very nice but simple french bistro style menu Attentive service and well cooked food in an atmospheric bar/dining room Decent wines and all at a reasonable price What more do you need , would certainly go back
This was a true “Mom and Pop” restaurant. The older couple prepared, cooked and served the food. Very cozy place on the Left Bank a couple of blocks from the river. They had good wine, dinner and desert. My steak was good, not always the...case I found in Paris and I ate a lot of steak. There were some young Italians at the bar and they ordered plates of Pomme frites with beer, that looked good as well and they were having a lively conversation with the couple running the place. Overall a lovely experience and we may go back before we leave, it is near our apartment.More
Charming, lively local bistro. Apologies for 'faint praise', but the food is standard/average. I wasn't sure my escargot was any better or different than the frozen grocery store variety...
We stumbled across this restaurant as we were staying in a hotel around the corner. It was filled with locals and not a tourist sign or menu in sight which was great. We had salmon and steak and both were excellent. I'm not a fan...of rare steak but the owners were really accommodating. They didn't speak English so our rusty french and hand gestures had to get us by but they were really friendly and helpful. Definitely worth popping in for a glass of wine and a snack or steak.More
We happened upon this cafe after our Eiffel Tower visit. We decided to walk back to our hotel and stopped in for a light lunch. We could tell the waitress did not speak much English but she was patient and polite as we ordered our...meal. Food came quickly and was delicious. Lunch for two inclusive of perrier was 43 euros.More
I have visited this typical French restaurant with my friends in May 2017 during our visit of Paris. We have just hit this place as we were looking for nice place to have our lunch. Everything looked OK but the biggest mistake we did was...that we have ordered 3 beers for us. Rather older lady who was the waitress apparently never carried so many beers in her hands and I was totally shocked when she spilled the whole pint of beer into my crotch and all over my legs. Total disaster, really...I only had one jeans with me at the time and although it was May the wheather was not that nice and was rather cold. I was supposed to walk another hours in Paris with completely wet legs which was not nice, believe me. But OK, this can happen although it should not...however we have expected that I will get at least free beer or whatever as compensation..but nothing, nothing at all. She did not almost tell me that she is sorry for that..in every normal place you would get compensation but not here. I would never go to this place again.More
We stumbled upon this restaurant on our way to the Orsay. Could not have asked for a nicer, very French, lunch. Very little English was spoken, but the server was attentive and kind. Food was excellent and was served quickly. Sat outside and enjoyed the...fine Parisian scenery.More
