You have to be really brave to open an Asian bakery in Paris. These guys have balls and skills too! Authentic Asian with great pastries! Try them!

Popped in here during the hours where all the restaurants closed before dinner service. The place reminded me of 85 Degree Bakery back in the states. Centrally located near the Louve and in the heart of Korea/Japanese Town.

We came to Aki Boulanger after several recommendations, and while its food is tasty, it's nothing special compared to Japanese bakeries in Japan, Korea or even NYC. The customer service was very weird. Instead of speaking French to us, the woman behind the counter insisted on speaking English, yet couldn't understand what we were saying (including very simple things like... More

In the heart of the Japanese / Korean district of Paris, Aki Boulanger offers a lot of interesting options mixing the French and Japanese cuisines. They have for instance many Matcha cakes and brioches. I went there at lunch time, and it is clearly a very busy place, a favourite with tourists and locals.

This patisserie had an underwhelming display of the range of Japanese flavours available. The predominant flavour utilised in French patisserie at this shop was matcha green tea. It failed to bring in other flavours such as taro, black sesame, red/green adzuki bean or yuzu. However, the cream in the choux/roulade etc was perfectly light and harmonises appropriately with the matcha... More

Our accomodation was just down the road from Aki and it was on our way to the metro. So glad for that! We are there 3 times in our 4.5days in Paris, and their matcha opera cake was our favourite. Their pork katsu don was great too, and their matcha melon bun, azuki eclair and cinnamon and apple beignets certainly... More

We were excited to try some good quality matcha stuff and confused by what we got.. The only matcha we can taste was in tiramisu - muffin and eclair was just sweet and we couldn't taste any matcha there :( Maybe other sweets are good as the line was really long - advantage was that although there were plenty of... You can find yuzu, matcha green tea, red bean pastries, matcha tiramisu, matcha opera, cream filled rolls, anpan, curry filled bread, sandwich bread, tonkatsu sandwiches, take away obentos, drink coffee and eat your purchases inside or out. People smoke on the outside terrace seats and the minute you step inside the shop, you smell the stale smoke. Surprisingly the smell... More
