Restaurant specializes in pork dishes. Starter is a complimentary champagne and cassis cocktail. We had pork rib for two which was very tender, well cooked and more than my wife and I could eat. Our daughter had the pork shoulder which was excellent-very tender. Service was good and décor very Parisian.

Seafoods were fresh! We like it so much! Fish was nice too. For us, pork knuckle just so so. Nice staffs and good environment. They speak good English. Overall good experience!

Exquisite dining experience. The meal was outstanding. From the foie gras croquettes to the maple, burnt toast ice cream. It was all amazing. The service was top notch, not pretentious, but welcoming, informed and incredibly friendly. Top 5 dining experience ever. Thank you!!

We were looking for a restaurant that could accomodate a group of 16 for dinner, comfortably. Though other restaurants were more highly rated, none had the space that our group required. We told them that we would be celebrating my Mom's 85th birthday. When we showed up for dinner at 7 PM, we we're taken to an elegantly decorated room... More

This is a good restaurant to enjoy french gastronomy in lovely place near Les Halles. Food is very good, the price is right, and the portions are big enough to satisfy anyone. I had the Pied de cochon grillé Béarnaise and was excellent. The staff should be more friendly, actually they are not very good with kids and they must... More

It is a very popular place in Paris. The food is good but not cheap. The tables are quite small and all next to each other. I guess this is something common in Paris, but it can make going to the toilet quite a challenge if you are trapped behind your table. The food we had was all tasty and... More

At the restaurant, I was the fifth time in recent years. Every time when visiting Paris. Always very good, but not this time. Onion soup excellent. Excellent desserts. Grilled leg with a hoof stank. Waiting for the second bottle of wine, after referring to twenty minutes. The same is waiting for the steak and desserts. Bad service. The waiter fifteen... More

The ovens at Au Pied de Cochon were fired up in 1946 and they have never been turned off since. Au Pied de Cochon is a Paris institution, very near the Centre Pompidou, on your way from shopping the first arrondissement to the sightseeing the Marais. It is decorated with a profusion of Art Nouveau stylistic touches, like mirrors, fantastic chandeliers, paintings of lovely ladies. There is also an enticing terrace, and, as it's open 24/7, you can come in anytime for a meal and to watch the world go by. Menu is French. Try starter of oysters of several types and sizes, house special main course of pig's trotter stuffed with duck liver and pudding of babas au rhum.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
