It wasn't our plan to go there, but it was raining and we passed by, so this bar was our first choice. We had only coffee and it was good, but a little bit overpriced for us. Staff was really nice and helpful.

Just don't go there!!! It is an "has been place". I lived in Saint-Germain-des-Prés for 30 years, and it used to be good. Now it is just what you call " un piège à touristes", or what French would say of: Un endroit pour les...More

Local brassiere comfortable food and wine. Great for people watching serves Pollaine stone ground whole wheat bread. Worth the trip for a touch of what the city used to be about.

Went for lunch and they seem to do mostly egg-based dishes or tartines on pain poilane. The terrace looks nice and the inside was light & airy. We went for the tartare with coleslaw. First time I see a tartare with bits of carrots?!? Also...More

We stopped by for coffee and people watching, and were greatly rewarded. Saint Germain is particularly interesting in this area with just a scattering of tourists. The coffee was great, service was pleasant and attentive, and we enjoyed the break.

Au Sauvignon was recommended by a friend. We went there specifically because they serve Sancerre wine from Domaine du Pre Semele, the family vineyard of my friend. We ordered a platter of "sandwiches" - bread sliced from the large loaves baked at Poilane, and filled...More

I believe it was 1969 when I first visited Au Sauvignon and have been stopping by every few years since as it is just around the corner from our apartment on the Rue du Cherche-Midi. It seems to be very much the same as it...More

I really like this terrace for a light lunch and une verre when shopping at Bon Marche (about a block away). Great service, good selection of wine and the tartines to eat -which are essentially a varying option of fresh ingredients on fabulous French toasted...More

Looked for this bar on a recommendation and very glad I had. Spent a very rainy afternoon in here with my girlfriend sampling the great wines they have to offer. The service was great and had some very funny banter with the staff even though...More

In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic
and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is
dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops,
ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants.
Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine
