Nice cafe to sit and watch the world go by, lovely friendly waiting staff. We were sat on terrace, waiting staff come round all tables offering a huge selection of French pastries. Also giving a small dish of mixed salty treats.

Thank starscooper

This is an iconic French cafe that was the last of 3 that I visited during a week in Paris. Cappuccino was good. Sartre and Hemingway have breakfasts named for them on the menu. Glad that I stopped. Forgot to check out the two magots inside....next time.

I went to dinner at "Les Deux Magots". This is a famous cafe in St Germain. The meal was excellent. The two Magots are two porcelain Chinese dignitaries from when all things Chinese were fascinating. The cafe is famous for being the meeting place of authors, philosophers and artists over the years. These days they could not afford to eat... More

It is a cafe that I had hoped for. It was a café that I visited a little bit, but it was less romantic than I had imagined because it was too expectant. It is a historic cafe, but it did not touch Hemingway's space. It was just like a common cafe in a tourist destination. There is a pigeon... More

Yes here some of the past greatest philosophers met here to have a coffee ir a meal and you can almost imagine Hemingway or Camus sitting next to you. Or Picasso planning his next painting. Quality food but not cheap but then again yolo!

Service can be poor at times. Perhaps not the best cafe for a solo traveler (larger groups have bigger tabs which mean bigger tips than the solo traveler)

Second visit. Always busy. I guess we did not record our fist visit. The hot chocolate is claimed to be the best. They have two versions. The more expensive has whipped cream but same very thick and rich. Quiche with mushrooms and ham was good. The salad was fine. The duck was very good. The fries were the size of... More

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful.
