Great atmospheric place - really french "home made" food in the center of Paris. First of all it works all day long without any stops and that was great! Secondly the food is great and you can really choose from it. After a great dinner ended with desserts and a cup of coffee.

Despite poor recent reviews, we visited Chez Paul because we had good memories of the place from years ago. The food was excellent. However, I ordered a bottle of Haut Medoc (26 Euro on the wine list) and was told that it was no longer available. We were offered a different bottle at the same price. When the bill arrived... me and my bf came for a dinner during the last christmas season. We had a great plate of cheeses and 2 steaks. The service was lovely and the food was tasty :) definitely will come back nest time we're in Paris.

Just back from 7 days in Paris - and this was the best meal I ate there. Intimate, warm, cozy, neighborhood feeling French restaurant, I highly recommend going there if you like great French food!

We stopped by at 4pm to celebrate the Beaujolais Nouveau. Glass of wine (or two) and an assortment of sausages, pate, hams, foie gras. We were there in between meal services and they were welcoming. The decor is sort of old bistro in the countryside. I would go back for lunch or dinner. In a dynamic area of the city.

After hearing so much about this restaurant, was really looking forward to dining here for a typical French bistro experience. Started out badly with the skinny, bald man being incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming when we arrived. The menu was all in French. No problem with that, but I had several questions about the best choices for us. He answered grudgingly... More

If you imagine a restaurant in a typical French style of the beginning of the 20th century with amazing food, you imagine Chez Paul. The stuff was friendly (although very busy, they managed to be with us on time). Ask for the menu in english, they do have it. The food quality is above expectation (considering the low-mid range price).... More

We arrived early for dinner. The restaurant was empty. Waiter was not very pleasant or welcoming but said it was ok. I speak fluent French. We sat down looked at the menu and were deciding what to order. Suddenly I saw a mouse running on the ledge behind my head. Waiter was not too bothered and suggested we move to... More

This is such a great local restaurant we love coming back here. A traditional menu that does not disappoint. Food, wine and service are very good. A classic French bistro that has never disappointed us in 4 visits over 5 years. Escargot, foi gras, steak frite and huitres are fantastic. The canard and lapin also very enjoyable.
