Spoke with some locals about a good place to eat and they suggested Chez Toinette. So very fortunate to have come across this restaurant.

Lovely attentive waitress. Cosy with a nice vibe. Starter was a lovely melted cheese and honey dish unfortunately let down slightly by a bit of burnt toast. But fantastic main, kidneys in a mustard sauce, excellent. Strange thing to mention but the nicest sparkling water I've ever had as well. Would definitely go again.

Average French style food. Very friendly staff and good atmosphere. Not as touristy as usually on Mont Matre.

We came to Chez on our last night, and it was simply amazing. The appetizers, entrees, sides, the desserts, we had it all. I can't speak highly enough of it. The staff was wonderful and the chefs take great pride in what they to. Our Paris trip wouldn't have been complete without our visit to Chez Toinette.

We picked this restaurant based on Tripadvisor reviews, and were not let down! The atmosphere and staff were amazing, and the food was very good. It's a very, very small restaurant though, so be prepared to eat very, very close to other people.

After a scan on tripadvisor we decided to give the Chez Tointette a punt for our first evening in Paris. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere is Parisian, with tight tables, lots of conversational noise and with a very friendly approach to tourists. The duck for me is a must! Huge duck breast, cooked to perfection in a honey and... More

So my girlfriend and I did the whole rush up the stairs to see the sunset thing from the sacre-coeur. At sunset. I recommend getting there a bit earlier unless you're Mo Farah as it's well demanding. We soon realised how angry our legs were with our bodies and needed somewhere to eat, and more urgently sit. So we stumbled... More

Cosy, great food & wine! Eat the foie goas - it's home made & tastes amazing! If they have it on the menu the beef bourgigon is the best! Don't miss out!

Valentines meal with partner. Having read so much about this restaurant and tried tirelessly to book it from the UK by telephone and Facebook to no gain, I was so pleased that we were able to knock on the door, speak to the head waiter and book in for Valentines night. I/we had such high expectations and could not wait... More

Had an excellent meal - mostly local Parisians dining here when we went only about 10 tables. Small menu but tasty, I had kidneys with mustard sauce very good, wife had duck breast and the creme brûlée was to die for!

Thank James E

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
