We stayed a few blocks from the place and chanced upon it upon strolling on the final eve of our stay. Being Asian, we couldn't help to notice the place. Place lols neat and have that old Siamese ambience. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered small meal because there were only two of us. For a Thai place... More

I live locally and come here fairly often, and sometimes even get takeaway. I love their delicious Thai dishes, and service is very friendly and polite. Particular favourites are duck red curry with sticky rice. If you want something green and healthy and totally moreish, order a dish of "lisérons d'eau." This is apparently water convolvulus and is delicious, served... More

This is a good solid Thai restaurant. It is not paticularly inventive but the food is dependable and the ingredients are impeccable. I go here about once a month fo their pad thai. Not expensive.

Monday nights restaurants tend to be closed - when we landed here, we smiled. And when finished, we beamed. Best Thai we've had. The waitstaff was quick and attentive and kind to our limited French. And worked with us to improve our breadth and execution of French words. The food was bursting with flavor - chicken, seafood, pad Thai -... More

Many restaurants change, but Chieng Mai is deservedly my go to place for Thai food in Paris. It was a relief to find the menu unchanged, except for the prices, the decor refreshed but the same and the fine family service. I almost always have the fish wrapped in bamboo and one of the spicy salads to start. The wine... More

In a small typical street in the heart of Paris... Few meters from "le Quartier Latin", after a visit in Notre Dame, la Sorbonne or l'institut du Monde Arabe, just let yourself enjoy delicious Thai dishes, tasting as if you were there. Smiling team! They would do anything to please you. Kao pat Thai, is very good. Mango with sticky... More

Nice restaurant with a very welcoming feeling. Quiet and relaxed ambiance. White linens, blue china and high quality cutlery. Real Jasmine tea (not tea bags). The food was fresh and wonderfully balance. Our shrimp soups were well prepared, the perfect blend of lemon grass, coconut milk, coriander and spices. We could taste the shrimp and the fish. The broccoli was... More

I had lunch at Chieng Mai and enjoyed it. The ambience is pleasant and typical of a small, neighborhood Thai restaurant. I was provided with menus with both French and English translations for the dishes. I had spring roll, a nice cury and a wonderful dessert made with water chestnuts and vermicelli. Everything was very good but the price of... More

After a lot of bland food along the way on our European trip, we arrived in Paris craving a bit of spice. The nearest Thai to our apartment was this one, and we were pleasantly surprised. Had the Souxi salmon, pineapple fried rice, and the kids had pad Thai. It was all fresh, well presented and really tasty! The service... More

I ate at this lovely Thai place with my hosts from Paris. They frequent restaurants often and yet, even though in their neighborhood, hadn't been here. So it was a real discovery for the locals as well as me. I was surprised to see a large vegetarian section in the back of the menu. I had the vermicelli sautéed with... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
