Three Michelin stars bring with them high expectations. L'Atrance is a small restaurant with basic decor and excellent service no doubt. Food varies between good to very good to excellent. The amuse bouche was very good. The following courses started to slide down that made us wonder where are the Michelin stars. However, it picked up again with the pre-dessert... More

Flower experience. Each plate, one flower. You must eat the dedicated flower which comes with every recipe. The restaurant is very small so you have to book it a long time before your arrival.

I was very much looking forward to this return visit to L'Astrance and was so disappointed. We were seated around 1230 and waited about half an hour for any opportunity to order wine or discuss the food (there's no menu). Then it was a further hour or so, with plenty of (good) bread and only one course, before any further... More

Have reviewed previously n standard has maintained at very least even with new staff. New dishes n creativity with basic ingredients like mushrooms n seasonal products. Just leave to Christoff n Alexandro new sommelier. Superb wine list to match with reasonable prices even for Paris. Dont be afraid to ask for wines not on list esp burgundies.

I came here for an extended lunch, and from service to food it was flawless 3-star quality. There were not fancy caviar, truffle, or foie gras in the menu I chose. However, the quality and execution in every dish was of great quality and fine to great detail. The shrimp was so fresh with exploding flavor, with its body immersed... More

Some genius took down my previous review, so this is a repost. Fine dining throughout France has become more convivial - much more affable and accessible. You seen the other negative reviews about l'Astrance's floor staff. In our month dining through many of France's most loved restaurants, this was the only place where the floor staff gave me attitude. Not... More

We had the 5 course lunch menu with wine paring. First, the sommelier was engaging, and very knowledgable. He and the chef clearly have a partnership and the pairings were intriguing and intellectual. The inclusion of information about the wine makers added value and personality to the experience. The dishes were well timed - although we enjoyed ourselves so much... More

An absolute gem of a 3 star Michelin, with great value lunch if you want the 3 star experience at a fraction of normal price. No menu, just what the brilliant Pascal Barbot dreams up based on daily availability. As a wine professional I can also recommend the amazing, if quirky wine pairings which are truly complementary to each dish.... More

The meal here are very creative and does not leap frog from being visually stunning to a mediocre outcome , in fact it tastes As good as it looks However there are no element of surprises here despite claiming so in the menu , specially for repeat visitors and even for those dining for first time , the flow of... We made a special trip to paris with the specific intent of going to L'astrance recently. ~ Getting a reservation ~ Contrary to a lot of reviews on the internet, getting a booking was far from impossible. I called 2-3 minutes before opening on the first business day the month before. I got through immediately and found suitable dates on... More

Staying in Trocadero

Neighbourhood Profile
Trocadero
This is the neighbourhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendour, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
