We have been surprised by the quality of the food and service. Unusual too as very much upwards of what you get in other midpriced Greek or Turkish restaurants. Value for money and lovely reception.

Food is fine, but tastes are all mixed and a bit odd. The restaurant is quite small and would need renovation. If it is cold outside and you are close to the door, it is not that pleasant. Service is average for Paris (slow and distracted)

When we moved to Paris, we spent a few month living right next to the Sacre Coeur in Montmartre, not exactly next door, but a few streets away in Avenue Junot, not far from Dalida´s square. Our times there were wonderful, it was mostly autumn and winter time, but the views of the Sacre Coeur were so stunning, that no... More

Chose this restaurant on the basis of Trip Adviser Reviews. I'm very glad we did. It was an experience to remember.

The quality of the food is inversely proportional to the speed of the service on the night we were there. But it became irrelevant when we tasted the food. So subtle, so fresh, made with skill and heart. All in all, not for everybody in a sense that the decor is not quite 20th century but who cares. The food.... More

Second night in a row for dinner with colleagues. Alain is passionate about his food and we found out music. A lovely quiet place full of ambience. A real find in an amzing city

If you are not just looking for a kebab/gyros... If you want to discover the real turkish tastes, you will be at the right place. Not a big factory (a restaurant where you have maximum 50 seats), not noisy, and a cocooning decoration... The owner is also your chef, Alain/Ali (turkish & french version of the name) is a person... Have just returned to our holiday apartment in Belleville after an excellent meal in this restaurant. The owner/Chef and his assistant were very helpful and discreet; the food genuinely Greek/Tukish with the Chef's own touch and the environment and ambience intimate and genuine. The cost was very reasonable for the generous, quality servings and I recommend it highly. We would... More

Three of us went here for lunch, and were graciously received by the owner, who was very helpful with the ordering and timed the delivery of the courses perfectly. The mezze were beautifully presented and delicious, the main courses likewise. All of the ingredients were of impeccable quality and freshness, the lamb was delicious and tender. The only slight drawback... More

I discovered this place by accident, walking down the rue de Belleville having just reserved a table in the nearby Baratin. I thought it looked charming, and I wasn't disappointed. I had the lunchtime express menu - beautifully presented tarama with tomatoes, cucumber and lightly crisped bread, followed by chicken kebab with rice, potato fondant and salad. I enjoyed it... Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighbourhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
