If you happen to have to spend time in uninspiring Montparnase, go to the top of the tower, take your pictures and then come back down and find this little place that serves food from France's southwest region. The menu is very French and quite generous with a nice range of beef, pork, fish, veggies - all prepared with a... More

My wife and i ate at this restaurant last Thursday evening. We chose it because it was near our hotel. The food is south-west French style; Excellent quality. Very good wide choice. Top service. One owner is in in the restaurant and the other in the kitchen. We took three courses each and a glass of wine. The food was... More

The southwest of France is one of the most gastronomic regions in the country. This restaurant is a great ambassador of that food. The truffle and mushroom bouillon soup was to die for as was the confit. I highly recommend their baba made with Armagnac instead of rum. Was a bit disappointed with the Roquefort ice cream. I guess it's... More

We like to stay on the Montparnasse/St Germain border and feel that a visit to La Cerisiaie should be part of our trip. It is a very small restaurant and is typically parisian with its small tables close to each other, which seems to give the restaurant a friendly atmosphere. The staff are very welcoming. The style of cooking is that... More

I had the pleasure of being taken here with work colleagues on a business trip. The restaurant is small, very small, but with a lot of charm. The food focuses on traditional food from the south west region of France, an area I was told has excellent cuisine. They were not wrong. WOW! I had the fois grais starter which... More

We have eaten at La Cerisaie several times now and it has never disappointed us. The food and service are both excellent and, although not inexpensive, the value is there. The space is small but cleverly done with mirrors against one wall to give a more open feeling and we have never felt crushed. Entrees for us this time included... More

Treat yourself to this place, if only just once. I went there to do so after reading somewhere that a French man, passionate about classic cuisine loved that place. Not many tables, a gastronomic menu which indulged my every senses, attentive service; I was a very client. The highlights of the meal were (1) the oeuf cocotte a la creme... More

Had a very nice meal with escargot and a roast pig from an ancient breed of pig. Typical french cooking with typical atmosphere.

A memorable experience and a delight for the senses. Visually the presentation of the food is an under the breath "wow", then the taste of the food is an almost shout out"WOW",if the space was not so constrained. Service is super & the staff very attentive & sensitive. Unique items on the menu waiting to be enjoyed & cherished.

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
