I stumbled on this place whilst searching for somewhere to eat in the area, there are many restaurants around here. Very friendly and cheerful service. The food is very classic French cuisine, good but not excellent in my view and quite expensive. They were mean...More

Whenever someone is heading to Paris, this is the first place I recommend. It was one of my most memorable restaurant experiences of my life. I know it may sound dramatic, but it was seriously that good. Why? Let me explain. It was my first...More

Traditional French cuisine. We went for Foie Gras and Cotê du Boeuf. Dishes on other tables also looked great and all customers seemed very happy with the food they received. Once seated the service was excellent and we also received good wine recommendations. Although we...More

This place is a must for those seeking an authentic cosy Parisian restaurant: red seats, golden framed mirrors, crochet curtains and such. Service is attentive with a touch of humour, food is hearty - if slightly on expensive side, portions are generous, wide list is...More

Our most memorable dinner in Paris. Simply incredible. The staff was so friendly, and patiently walked us through the menu in English. The food was superb, from appetizer to dinner to dessert. I highly recommend La Poule au Pot for an amazing French experience and...More

Recommended by a French friend and happy to have visited. Wish we had known about the size of the entrees--we would have shared and then had room for dessert [which we spotted on tables either side of us--ENORMOUS]! We each had their special chicken dish...More

Chicken craving? Go here. I guess the prices are averagely a bit high for what is offered but the full roasted spring chicken @ 23EUR was such a bargain. Also very good place for late night hungers as it closes down at 5am!

Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris,
Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but
the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it
houses the main shopping mall, which nestles
underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and
international restaurants coupled with beautiful
churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to
it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and

I'd have to agree with Mary Lou. It's a beautiful place with lovely food so if your children are of an age to appreciate it then it should be fine. Not really ideal for Toddlers or young babies.

I would call and explain the situation. They speak English. We anticipated being later than we were, so we arrived 40 minutes before our reservation (after a show). We had to wait 5-10 minutes, and then they seated us... More

Open all night from 7pm to 5am , you are welcome in an authentic 1930's restaurant where stands a beautiful old "zinc". Do not be surprised to meet international stars because the owner Paul Racat who looks after this Parisian institution has built a solid reputation.
