My partner and I have had dinner here on each of two recent visits to Paris - in December and a few days ago. It's a mixture of locals and tourists - it's in the Marais/Place des Vosges area so pretty touristy but also a residential area of central Paris. Pleasant space - tables are quite close but we've been... More

This place is in the heart of the Marais, but not touristic. Mostly full of regulars, enjoying a proper French business lunch. Food is from the SW - boudin noire, that kind of thing. Allegedly a haunt of Maigret, one could imagine that the great detective would have mingled here with his old friends. Service was a bit slack, but... More

This was our last dinner in Paris, and it didn't disappoint. After searching for a good restaurant to go to that would sum up our trip we decided to come here. We sat outside drinking our wine and watched the sunset from a quite ally way/ street that reminded us why Paris is the City of Romance. We started off... More

I found this place just by looking up French restaurants within walking distance of my hotel and it wasn't even the first one I went to check out, but it was the first one that was open when I arrived with my friends. I'm a big fan of French food as I used to live in France when I was... More

We wanted a typical French bistro and this was recommended by hotel. Fabulous food, all authentic french and delicious. Was actually full of a lot of US students but maybe because of the area it was in? Wine ( obviously all french) was delicious and the service was very friendly and efficient.

My boyfriend and I got the the restaurant at around 6pm, when the dinner rush in Paris starts around 7-7:30. We loved having some quiet time and super attentive service before the crowds arrived, and boy did it fill up. I tried the curry vegetable tofu and it was absolutely delicious! The portions were perfect, but I didn't give this... More

I chanced upon this nice little restaurant when I stayed at a hotel three blocks away. Staff is very friendly and helps you to understand the items on the menu. Food is well prepared, the wines offered are a great complement to the dishes. Every day a whole variety of special dishes. Good value for money.

The restaurant specialities seemed to be seafoods but I am not for fish so I ordered beef steak with French fries. The fries were full of fish flavour. Probably they used same oil for both fish fries and potatos. I could accept it if the restaurant is just a regular diner but they are rather an upscale restaurant. I was... More

We, a retired couple, returned to this restaurant to eat with friends, after having eaten here twice in the last two years. The place is bustling and popular, but we found that it wasn't what it had been. Three of us had the veal cutlet and one of us had the duck. The duck was delicious, but the veal was... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
