For some inexplicable reason, I chose the assiete des légumes. I say inexplicable but actually the next word in the dishes’ description was ‘glacé’. The delicious combination of butter and sugar in just the right quantities made every vegetable live its best life shortly before...they departed for my fork, lips, mouth, tongue and stomach. The addition of the pumpkin purée and the feta style cream was just genius. I would have it again and again if it didn’t require an expensive four hour one way trip. The desserts looked beautiful too. Trying to relive memories, I chose the lemon meringue tart. It was now too sweet for me but very tasty nonetheless.More

After trying lemon merengue, I was tempted by the Tropezienne, which I definitely preferred. Not too sweet and very tasty. We recommend.

For 2 years we have wanted to try this restaurant since our rental apartment is right above it. We finally had lunch there today. Their lunch items include 4 types of quiches and a small side of greens for 10 euros; club house sandwich for...14.5euros; salad with beets and smoked herring for 12.5 euros; plat du jour which was chicken today at 14.5euros; and omelets at 10 euros; and a fusili with mushroom and parmesean cream sauce for 13.5euros. We tried the fusili which was very good but quite a small portion and we also had the smoked herring salad which was very good. I especially enjoyed the pickled carrots and the yellow beets. For desserts, we HAD to try the lemon meringue pie which was a mile high at 8.5 euros and it was very good. The lemon curd was quite tart but it balances out nicely with the sweet meringue. I had a millefeuille with hazelnut cream at 8.5euros which was also very good. The millefeuille was extremely crispy and the cream was lovely. We couldn't finish either of the desserts so they kindly wrapped it in tin foil for us to bring upstairs. We enjoyed the food but did find the prices a little on the high side but we will definitely return another time.More

Super place to have a relaxed lunch or just a coffee. Order the lemon merengue pie if you are having a huge craving for sweets!

Open for breakfast, brunch and lunch - have had brunch here twice. They specialise on breakfast/brunch. Unfortunately for the customers they are not open for dinner. Staff are super friendly and helpful, most speak English and will assist struggling French speakers such as ourselves. You...can see the kitchen at the back and it is obvious that the food is all cooked on site. We have had the omelettes and two types of savoury tart. All were delicious. We have been eyeing off the superb looking dessert tarts - our next assignment is to try a couple. Coffee and pastries are great. Loved it.More

I visited this café with my family for dinner tonight. Thomas was extremely accommodating and friendly to us. He made us omelettes, tea, and lemon meringue pie. Everything was exquisitely rich in flavor and fresh. I highly recommend!

Great cakes (loved lemon cake and also rhubarb tarte) and salty tarts. Tried also some noodles with quite unexpected toppings. Can be quite busy in the lunchtime.

I’d walked past La loir dans le théière, a very chic and Parisian place famous for its homemade cakes and tarts, many times. Finally, I decided to give it a try this afternoon. Teatime starts at 15:00 everyday. I arrived a little before 15:00 and...waited for less than 10 minutes to be seated. I’d a tea set at 13 euros. The tea le mélange bleu (bergamot, vanilla and lavender) was very good. I’d a hard time deciding which cake to order and finally chose the tart Tropezienne. It’s delicious and not too heavy. All the cakes here are really big and can easily be shared by 2 persons. The lemon meringue pie looked really good too but I was simply too full to eat 2 pieces of cake. By the time I left, there’re already more than 20 people waiting outside to get in. I suggest you arrive around 15:00 if you don’t want to wait for long.More

On a recent trip to Paris. I found this gem and I wasn't disappointed. As a lover of tea and cake I was in heaven when I wandered in here. I had lavender tea and my daughter had coffee. We took a while to choose...our cake from the wonderful selection on display. The staff were more than happy to tell us what each cake contained. Eventually we settled on what I can only describe as mount Everest on a plate. It was huge. Lemon meringue in the biggest firm U have ever seen. It was delicious. We made our way through one slice, and had to come up for air as we savoured every mouthful. In face, there was enough for three people. I noticed customers seated at a table close to us tucking into a slice each. We were definitely very impressed with the service and our choice if cake. Will definitely return here in my next visit to Paris.More
