This place was amazing and we stumbled across it by accident. We had to nip round the corner for a pint while we waited on a table but we were in no rush and it turne out to definitely be worth the wait! The atmosphere was lovely nice and relaxed and felt familiar. The host was brilliant great interaction without... More

This place is tiny, so you should either make reservations or arrive early. This is place is so good and offers such great cost performance that after going alone earlier in the week, I brought guests there later that same week! After the two visits, we had pretty much sampled half the menu and everything was excellent. Everybody agreed that... More

The best part is how incredibly accommodating they were. We first tried to get in sister rest around corner, and they couldn't fit us so the owner. Walked us over to machon and offer to make us lamb chops from other rest and bring them to us. Fantastic. All around. Ravilois, duck was amazing and service great. Loved it

We walked in, a party of 6, without a reservation and got a table in a alcove. The service was great and the food was excellent. They really seemed to care about us having an enjoyable evening. We did! I had the beef bourguignon, it was divine. The carafe wine was delightful. All 6 of us had a very good... More

The staff at this cute little spot were very nice and helpful. It is a really small restaurant so reserve a table or get there very early. We didn't make a reservation but were lucky to get a table before the place got full. The Entrecote was very very good (according to my husband) and the Duck breast was literally... More

Relatives had recommended 'Bistrol d'Henri' but they were so PACKED on Saturday night, so the owner asked if we want to go over to their sister restaurant 'Machon d'Henri'. We said 'oui' so he walked us around the corner to his other place and boy, we're glad we followed. As a American who has claustrophobic issues, dining in this small... More

We stayed at a hotel near by and decided to give this restaurant a try based on the reviews. We were welcomed into this quaint restaurant. Make sure to get there early or make a reservation in advance as there are only a few restaurants. This was one of the best restaurants we ate at while in Paris. Food was... More

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
