Had a nice time for diner with friends in Paris. Its was a first for all of us. Our local friends chose the place as it was close to our hotel and reviews were decent. The food was nice, the menu was varied enough with French classics and the cocktails were good. The staff ok, they seem to rush us... More

Great restaurant, we loved the retro atmosphere. Food is amazing, tasty. Lamb with rosemary was perfectly cooked and iberian pork a great experience. One of our good diners in Paris.

We booked this place for an special night out in Paris because we read very good reviews and it was relatively close to our hotel. The restaurant was very busy, expected for a Saturday night, but the service was awful. The waiter had no clue what he was doing, didn't understand the machine to take the order, we had food... We have chosen Le Petit Retro for a family diner and we have haven't been disappointed: all of us absolutely loved it! The food was really good, the menu is full of classic bistro dishes as well as original suggestions so everyone could really find what they wanted. The staff and the decor are fabulous , the inside is a... More

I ate here twice in October. The first evening I had a veal stew that was OK, nothing special, and I had two American families behind me with small children. (Why do Americans think it's all right to take their 4 year olds to nice restaurants where they can disturb the dining pleasure of the other customers?) The second time... More

We like restaurants with creative cooking and Petit Retro was excellent for lunch. I miss Ris de Veau (sweetbreads) n London and here it was done beautifully. Such a pleasure to have a dish like this on the menu du hour. We spent a pleasant two hours over a Saturday lunch and left thinking it would be on our future... More

We booked our reservation on line from Ireland. When we arrived no table was reserved for us, the best tables were taken and we were given a table in a very cramped area. Staff attention was poor and the food was only ok. Disappointing for what we thought would be a memorable evening. Would not go back.

This place is worth a visit once (even if you only put your head in the door) to see the tilework that lines the floor, walls, and ceiling and the 'historic' decor. The food is nice but you can definitely find better in Paris. That said, I had a starter of sautéed mushrooms and they really were very very tasty.

Amazing place, staff were fabulous and food was fantastic. We had celery soup for starters and scallops with risotto for our entrees. The eclair for dessert was absolutely sinful! Highly recommend!

Staying in Trocadero

Neighbourhood Profile
Trocadero
This is the neighbourhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendour, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
