Probably the best tea in the world is sold here. Try Marco Polo - it's the best blended flavoured tea ever created. The shop has a nice cafe at the back where all the teas can be tasted accompanied by cakes, scones or other french dessert delicacies.

Located on a small street in the Marais, we visited this tea room 10 years ago on our first visit to Paris and made it point to go back. Wonderful little pastries as well well as entree items along with the one of the finest tea menus we have ever seen. Well worth the visit!

This well-known place has been well-established and was a lovely setting in Le Marais. A great place to rest while you are shopping and enjoy their famous tea ( Marco Polo ). You get a big pot and it does go a long way. The waiters all wore lovely linen suits and very smart looking. Some were friendly and some... More

Mariage Freres is an extraordinary tea shop. All loose teas are available so your nose can decide which ones are most appealing to you. I couldn't pick just one! The loose tea comes in beautiful tins, and make they wonderful hostess gifts. Or if you prefer tea in bags, they have that option as well.

I am so addicted to Casablanca tea that my friends in Paris have to send it to me. The atmosphere in here is another world. Just go! Smell a selection of teas just for the hell of it. Have a tea party out the back...dress up as Alice in Wonderland...wy not!?

Lovely museum, great place to buy tea and tea memorabilia. The restaurant itself is a little overpriced for the service. We waited 30+ minutes for our tea to show up and the food took an additional 20 minutes....

I love Marriage Frères, I have gone here for over 30 years, trying teas, scones, and enjoying the same lovely atmosphere for quite a long time; however, this last trip was inexcusably horrendous. I went with my friend, her grand-daughter and my six year old. I asked what kind of food would work for a child, given mine was hungry.... More

i came to pay homage to tea. Yes, the culture of tea arose on the border of India and China millennia ago. And England promoted it in the Western world. But the French have always had a particular genius for scents: perfumes, soaps and yes, teas. You can get the same quality tea elsewhere but their particular blends of teas... More

Description
Each one of our tea houses offer a unique environment that combines prestige, raffinement and tradition. They present a tea-tasting salon that allows you to apreciate the best flushes, harvests and tea blends from 12:00 to 19:30.

The flushes from the most prestigious tea gardens are steeped behind an old oak bar, a true tea preparation counter. The Mariage Freres' golden rules, are applied and harshly used, for the enchantment of the lovers of the most refined and precious tea.

The control of water temperature and steeping time length are compulsory for a successful tea preparation. In order to preserve the tea flavors and scents, a purified water is used. The leaves are taken off the teapot before tea is served.

The epicures can also discovert our original preparations baked with tea: the French Art of Tea is for the most part an "art de la table", displayed in the "Cuisine au The" (Cooking with Tea) prepared everyday by our chefs in main courses and deserts.

Next to the tea counters, the tea salons, decorated with ancient furniture, set a peaceful path where tea lovers and gourmets can meet up with salty flavours and sweet temptations.

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
