I love this place when I visit Paris. Good moments, good wine, nice part of Paris ! The food is great. The boss is very friendly. If you want to have a good dinner in Moufetard, go there !

Go to Savannah. Each experience there will work itself into your collection of treasured memories. The food is delicious (I have never been disappointed) but as you can see from reading the many reviews here, going to Savannah is like going home. It's that simple.

Grabbing a delicious lunch at the Savannah Cafe is always a high point of any trip to the Latin Quarter in Paris. From Richard's good-humoured welcome to the great food, the wonderful atmosphere (people actually talk to each other!), and the attractive prices, it's a treat and always a pleasure. One has the sense of being 'en famille' and every... More

Yes the food is excellent, and yes it is creative... but the Savannah Cafe is much more than that. It is first and foremost an iconoclastic, secret place, a cozy universe created by its owner Richard. Wide open to the world but closed to narrow mindedness. Customers are treated like friends (which they often are), and music is always excellent.... More

Surrounded by a collection of colourful toys "from the good old times" and from all over the world, Richard, the owner, prepares for you the most delicious Lebanese dishes, charmingly served. And, with some interesting conversation, one spends an unforgettable evening at the Savannah Cafe. A place to cherish: for the mind, the heart, and...the stomach!

This is a bit of an unusual place, which we liked very much. It is definitely NOT one of the tourist-trap restaurant too often found in this part of Paris. The food is Lebanese with an international touch. What we tasted was very good, starting from the mixed appetizers for two. We would also recommend the Lebanese wine, a nice... More

We have been here because a friend of us suggested the restaurant. When we called to book ( yoy have to do that because the place is small), the owner told us that we soon we would find out if he was a real friend. Suggestion was amazing. Food is really good ( if you don't know Lebanon food, absolutely... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
