We booked a table for five on the official chez Julien website for a late lunch (déjeuner) at 4.30pm which seemed a good price at under €30 pP. Upon arrival we were seated right next to the service desk outside Which seemed strange because all...tables were empty except for two others. Then nothing happened for the next 10 minutes and just when we were about to walk inside to place our orders we were finally assisted. I told the waiter that we came for the déjeuner and that I had booked the table online on their website. He first asked for proof and luckily I had made a screenshot of our reservation. Then he was quick to state that déjeuner was over and that we had to choose from the dinner menu. I asked him why then the website offered déjeuner until 4.30pm? His answer was that there was something wrong with the English version of the website. Well, if you know there is something wrong with your website, then that’s your problem and not ours, right, I replied. No, certainly not our problem either, was his immediate reaction. (?!) But we were welcome to order from the dinner menu he repeated... -The problem with the dinner menu is that it would’ve set us off by about €500 versus maybe €200 for the déjeuner... So we left. Can not recommend this place. Way too arrogant and such bad service shall not be rewarded.More

The place itself is really nice, charming spot + no cars around, and a "classic" parisian restaurant with charming decoration... and that's precisely where it hurts... because of the advantage of such a location/place, the owners have become slopy on the food quality (very poor,...they managed to serve me a tasteless foie gras, quite a feat), the service (I was served my entrée and main dish at the same time), and the price (for which you'd get a proper restaurant)... honestly, as a Parisian, it pisses me off to see restaurant owners/managers not taking advantage of such a perfect spot.More

I deeply recommend this adress. The food was refined, and the service, leaded by the amazing Lola, was astonishing

Lovely restaurant with a good emphasis on flavour when it comes to food. Attentive, friendly service. We had chateaubriand which was exceptional.

This is a favorite restaurant and we happily ate there on New Year's Eve. Pricey, but less so that many other restaurants on the last night of the year. It's a lovely setting near the river, Notre Dame and Hotel de Ville. The restaurant itself...is beautiful old-world decor and the staff is friendly. The service this time was congenial, but distracted - 2020 did roll in while we were eating. We recommend Chez Julien, but hope that the staff can try to be always on their game.More

We visited over New Year and stopped here for lunch. We ordered from the set lunch menu which was excellent value for money. We had the burrata followed by steak and frites with pepper sauce. All was delicious. The staff were very attentive and the...decor is beautiful. Will be back.More

Nice location and beautiful decor but I do question whether the management were of sane mind when they came up with the prices. We had the ravioli and the fois gras to start. Ravioli amazing. A tip is to find the house wine on the...fifth or sixth page of the menu as the first pages are full of ridiculously priced wine. There are so many restaurants in Paris in prime locations with as much charm so I would try one of these and save yourself from being utterly ripped off.More

Owing to the transport strikes we had to move our reservation to an earlier time on the day. The staff could not have been more helpful or understanding and everything went extremely smoothly. Added to that the food and service were excellent and we all...had an outstanding time . Highly recommended and really close to Notre Dame.More

Definitely. There are two chairs that would serve as the head of the table. One side has separate chairs the other has a plush banquet.

We found the food here very good and the service a bit indifferent. I agree you don't want to sit near the door. We had no problems getting the waitress to get someone to explain the French menu. Go for good food as we... More
