We went to La Marine twice on our holiday in Paris, once for drinks and once for dessert. We were staying in the Republique area and just happened to walk past when we were looking for a place to have drinks. It looked a bit different from the standard Paris cafe, bit quirky with interesting lights. The service is really... More

Went for dinner, it was very busy but we got great service. The meat (steak) was simply incredible (I have it always rare), probably a very well seasoned piece, so tasty it didn't need any salt. And the mustard, oh! the mustard!!! The strongest I have ever tried in my entire life! I asked for the source and the lady... More

We had lunch there. The snails were fabulous and better priced than in city center. This would ben5-stars except for the pâté came from a can and was literally served IN THE CAN on a plate. It was very "low-end" like feeding a stray cat. With that negative came all other positives! The staff was the most friendly I have... More

Good food and friendly staff. However, the manager does not know how to solve (even) little problems, besides being quite rude and insecure. He needs to be trained to know how to deal with customers and his staff.

Food very good, traditional French bistro food, but fresh, full of flavour- the service was also very good, very friendly - highly recommend a meal after exploring the area.

Visited La Marine twice this last weekend after our first visit to the Canal St Martin area. Set lunch very reasonable at €18 for two courses, everyone very pleased with their choices. Packed with real Parisians both times which I guess is a good sign. Staff were charming and helpful. Will return...

La Marine is a very popular, authentic Parisian bistro. Traditional and trendy. Typical indoor with moldings, mirrors, ceramic tiles, zinc counter. I'm a regular of its small terrace overlooking Canal Saint Martin, coming from time to time for a glass of sancerre or brouilly, for one of my favorites, lamb chop with mashed potatoes or stew with lentils. Always quickly... More

This was my third visit. The last time was over a year ago. It was just as wonderful as I remembered. Having raved to my friend it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious, my steak melted in the mouth and my friend said her lamb was the best she'd tasted. The staff are lovely and made us feel very welcome.... More
