We had dinner at this very fine restaurant and we enjoyed a full-course menu which was a real feast of quality and taste!!! Many congratulations to the chef and all the people that managed to create such a fine restaurant!!!

The place was packed although it was a Tuesday night! Everything we tried was superb but we were wise enough to save space for dessert!!!! Excellent service, superb food and wine and a touch of class in the atmosphere! I will definitely revisit, if I get the chance!!!!

I came here with my friend for "tous au restaurant" (buy 1 get 1 free). It costs 80 euro (excl drink) for 2 people, and we enjoyed entree + plat + dessert. We chose huitre as entree but we both think it's not very fresh. :/ However my main course is pretty nice: cod! :-) And I also love the... More

My wife and I went to Mavrommatis for a romantic night out and all started perfectly with exquisite service and nice "mise en bouche". However, we chose the "menu degustation" and as we went through each dish, we found them nice but not exceptional. The desert was probably our favourite with just the right level of balance between sweet, sour,... More

Well recommended and certainly very good. Friendly professional service and excellent food served perfectly. Greek food served in a truly French way. Excellent oysters, mushroom soup, cod and duck. But the combinations with each course were clever and subtle. Deserves a Mitchelin star.

Very expensive for what it is. I had heard so much about this restaurant and was excited about going with my children only to be disappointed. The dinning room is overly elegant for a "Greek" atmosphere. We had an assortment of starters which were only ordinary and the "taramar" was non editable. The lamb was dry with an under taste.... The Mavrommatis restaurant marries well the Greek flavor and the french gastronomy. A huge wine selection of Greek wines will accompagne your plates. Very romantic atmosphere.

This is the restaurant of the same catering chain. The food and the decor is sanitised, probably using the same interior decorators as similar french luxury catering chains. The price is too high, the quality and service are ok .

The restaurant is the Paris flagship of the Mavrommatis empire. The dining room is elegant and there is outside space for about 16 diners. We eat outside where the dining area is sheltered from the street by a beautiful full height hedge made of roses and jasmine. The smell was beautiful. On the menu you have the options of a... More

After reading reviews, we decided to have dinner here . The taxi took rather long to reach as he could not find the address on his GPS. After asking people for directions , it turned out to be at the corner of the street. The ambience was good, very serene and peaceful. Staff was courteous but the menu was totally in... More

Description
Mavrommatis in the 5th district of Paris is run by the renowned Mavrommatis brothers who also run the Laurier, Les Délices d'Aphrodite (Aphrodite's delights) and the Bistrot Mavrommatis. It is one of the best Greek restaurants in Paris. Andréas Mavrommatis himself manages the kitchen and is considered to be one of the best Greek chef's in the world. The décor is quite classical with potted plants on the terrace and photos on the walls, but the food is inventive and refined. There are of course the standard Greek options such as stuffed fine leaves and fish based specialities with southern wines to accompany them. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming just like Greece!

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
