Friendly greeting from the staff. Service was good throughout the meal, unrushed and efficient. Menu was good, we both chose a set menu of three courses. The food was all well presented and very tasty. The Moule et frites were good as was the dessert Fromage Blanc. Overall we were pleased with our choice in wht is a very crowded... More

Just what we wanted: prompt friendly service, good food prepared just like we ordered, not over priced. Choosing from the many restaurants at the main town square, obviously catering to tourists, is risky and often disappointing. Here we were quite pleased with all of our orders.

We have eaten in La Citadelle before, always seafood and it is always fresh. This time we decided on the paella and we were delighted. The portions were big, the rice seasoned perfectly and there were loads of mussels, shrimps, small squid and chicken as well as vegetables in each dish. Service was quick, even though the restaurant was quite... More

We had a nice dinner here. The salad nicoise was tasty although my wife's bull stew was mediocre. Unfortunately our waiter was extremely slow and our meal took almost 2 hr. That was not the case with other patrons, luckily for them.

At the beginning of this month I visited the South of France with my fiance, and it was amazing! I went to this adorable little town called Aigues Mortes. We had lunch there one day and both had salads. Each one was very different. I had "la citadelle" which has goat cheese, lettuce, chicken hearts and an amazing dressing. This... More

Expensive, poor quality food including burnt vegetables. But when mentioned there was no reduction offered in the rather large bill. Don't go there.

Chose this restaurant because the waiter tempted us in with his extremely pleasant manner which did not deteriorate once inside. (not always the case) The food was good and the service also. All four of us enjoyed our meals and if in this town again we would definitely eat there again.

Aigues-Morte is a remarkable fortress in a very wet and salty area of the Camargue. It's possible the Romans built there first but the first record is a tower the Matafère which Charlemagne built in 791which helped the fishermen and salt workers. In 1240 Louis lX wanted his own fortress port so commenced by building a road through the marshes... More
