The food was excellent and the setting on a hot summer night was wonderful but the service was not so good. The person who served us didn't seem that interested and even though they were not particularly busy until we had almost finished our meal it was difficult to get her attention. I will say again that the food was... More

Location very nice, but that's about it. If the food had been medium or above the vaitress lousy interest in her job would maybe equalized our experience. Do not recommend this place

We stayed a week in Carcassonne and tried two other restaurants, but this one was the best. After walking all day long, it was a pleasure to relax here and enjoy our meal. In the evening the yard is illuminated. They also have an outside kitchen so you can see them prepare the food. The various salads were good. The... More

Starters and main were very good from the fixed menu. The pichet of wine was on the limit of acceptability. What was unacceptable was being charged for the pichet when the fixed price €28 menu said it was included. The desserts were also below standard. I feel if the wine and desserts had been better then this would have been... More

We ate here several times during our stay, the courtyard setting is lovely and cool, and the menu suited everyone from grandparents to slightly picky 11 year olds. Traditional french food beautifully cooked, along with oven baked pizzas and pasta dishes.

Lovely setting, food good but as previous reviewer said, a bit more expensive than elsewhere. Our French is limited, so we struggled as there was no menu translation and the staff had no English. We were busy with our Google translate.

Imagine walking around a scorching hot Carcassonne with the kids in tow when you come across the unassuming enterance to Le Jardin d'ete. You walk down the short tunnel and into a shaded, cool, walled garden that is like finding an oasis in the desert. This restaurant is so pleasant to spend time at. It looks amazing, the food is... This restaurant seems to be a number of venues in one, Jazz bar, traditional restaurant and large shady courtyard. We were attracted to eat pizza in the courtyard by the buzz of largely locals meeting family and friends. Relatively cheap and definitely cheerful, we had a lovely evening under the trees.

If you are looking for a restaurant which serves overcooked meat and wastes your time, by all means eat at "Le Jardin d'ete." The issues at this restaurants, from our experience, were as follows. Firstly, the meat served was overcooked and tasteless, which was rather disappointing given that it appears, on the outside, to be a French restaurant rather than... More
