It was rather a cold night, but the were open, near to the cathedral and were dog friendly, however the food was rather lack lustre, we settled for a set menu - "no deviation allowed" The soup was warm but could have been hotter, the main was ok just average, the dessert was even less appealing, in conclusion - it... We were recommended to this restaurant by a local man we met when we arrived in Metz who heard us speaking English and offered to help us find our way. We asked him where there was a nice restaurant and he said this is where he and his wife go for special occasions. We thought that was a pretty good... More

Good location just off main square with its bars. Nice, classic, French restaurant decoration. Attentive staff. Food was reasonably priced and quality adequate. Would recommend for one visit if in area

We had a wonderful meal and very good service. Metz was our first stop on our way to Provence. Although we have been to Metz previously it was the first time at this restaurant, what a find. Definitely recommend this restaurant, I cannot believe some of the brutal reviews here - we had such good service and wonderful food.

I'm surprised by some of the brutal reviews here. When we visited the place was packed and we had the last table. The food is traditional brasserie style: simple French classics like onion soup, nothing innovative but good for a standard lunch. I liked the old-fashioned decor and there was plenty of wait staff. We all had the plat du... More

Dear tourist Please avoid this house ! When you see the room and the name and this is well located near the cathedrale you feel it should be great but no : the cooker is specialized in the "all ready" there is no local cooking. If you wish eat a good pizza you can try the Visconti. If you wish... More

Sloppy! Tasteless secondclass ingredients. That goes for starters, main courses and desserts!!! Service like kitchen! Now and again as a tourist you fall for the nice menu on the street. Don't do it here!!!!

A cold damp Wednesday night in Metz and we were looking for a budget place to eat. Came across Le Bouchon and it looked lovely inside and the menu was just right. Sadly the meal wasn't. The starter looked like it had been served up several days ago and the whole meal was accompanied by the pinging of the microwave... More

The poor service was without a smile and the food was poor - the only sound from the kitchen was the 'pinging' of the microwave. The food was industrial, bought in from a wholesaler and tasted like it. Go elsewhere!

We were walking around Metz and started looking for a place to have late lunch Lunch. We decided on Le Bouchon. What a terrible mistake. There was a few other people in the resturant, we ordered a 2-course lunch menu. The food was poorly presented, and the salad was warm (it was a hot day) and as it turns out... More
