Hangout in the local bar and café where artists of the Impressionist school gathered. Artists came to Giverny to be close to the great Monet and rented rooms here, painting in the backyard garden. A cup of coffee will get you access to the garden. A quick walk up the road from the Monet Foundation

My group of friends and I ate here after touring Monet's house and the nearby museum. Everything was great and very fresh. We had several large salads and the salmon entree which were all awesome. We also ordered dessert and the creme brûlée was some of the best we have had on the trip. Definitely worth a stop.

Looked lovely for a late afternoon snack and, after waiting 15 mins to be served, and after asking at the bar if we order at the table (yes), the waiter eventually only offered desserts as the kitchen was closed, even for cold salads - no signs anywhere...note to the owners, don't have full menus everywhere and then only offer drinks/desserts.

This places reeks history. The story behind Madame Baudy and her artist friends and clients is great fun to read. The food is very straightforward and brilliantly done. The locals eat here so that is always a good recommendation.

This is a well situated but expensive cafe. We didn't eat here, just had a coffee because we wanted to see the studio in the garden where Monet and his friends hung out. This was great to visit and well worth the price of the coffee.

This is one of the places which Monet and his friends "hung out," back in the day. It was the only place open for dinner on a Sunday evening (after our late day arrival in Givery) and we were happy to find it. (They close at about 9:00 p.m.) However, it was so good that we returned the next evening,... More

This is a fun place to eat/visit. If there are lots of tourists, make sure to make reservations early in the day for dinner. The atmosphere is friendly with a helpful staff and good menu. The food is very good, not super fancy (here food is food not art as in high end restaurants) but very nicely presented. It is... More

A beautiful country lunch after visiting Monet's garden. The outdoor setting is wonderful, the service great - the food delightful and the history of the place a bonus.

If you are visiting Monet's home and gardens in Giverny, France, skip the restaurants nearby and walk a few blocks into town where you can lunch where Monet and the american painters hung out and painted in the studio out back. Charming little inn with great food for lunch! My Omelet with duck was enormous and very tasty as was... More
